the witcher is a great game bioware should take a leaf out of the witchers book and do everything just like in the witcher because as it is the witcher is superior to mass effect heck mass effect three should be the witcher, except in space

yeah.

Although I am aware of the fact that the squadmates in  ME1 and 2 don't have to like each other I cannot believe that they are going going to spend so much time together on a "small" vessel without socializing among each other.

There are a lot of SciFi TV series (SG Atlantis, Firefly, etc.)  in which the major characters spend some spare time together, talking, gambling, exercising or just hanging around. In ME Shepard seems to be the only one who seeks the company of his crewmates.
Wouldn't it be better and maybe more realistic if for example Tali would visit Joker in his cockpit to talk about old times or starship technology? Or if Shepard would bump into Jacob and Garrus discussing about favorite weapons or fighting maneuvers, Thane and Samara philosophising in front of the window of the observatory lounge? There are lots of possibilities to deepen the emphasis with each squadmember - future and current ones...

Please BioWare > do this. bring more live to the normandy!!

The developers at BioWare have clearly shown their ability to refine and improve the atmosphere of their games. I really appreciated in Dragon Age that the party moved from a simple campsite where the character and followers congregated to the sequel DA2 where your companions live as part of a bustling city. On occasion when visiting a comrade we even got to see them interacting with other party members. These details help create a sense of greater immersion for me into the game.

I am expecting to see this evolution continue in Mass Effect 3. I understand we will mostly likely still be confined to the Normandy, but I expect life on board will be more dynamic then it ever was before. I am really excited when I start to ponder what the developers might have in store.

Definitely. More emotion in how they talk to each other, more interactions :)

The bad thing about this is that you might want to go talk with someone but you don't know where they're gone. So you have to go deck after deck looking for people, as they themselves move around the ship. They could be anywhere, chatting with the crew or even taking a cr*p in the toilets.

Right now, if I want to talk with someone, I know where everybody is. It's more practical.

I remember this being quite popular hope for Mass2 back when these forums had a blue layout.

And they did put some character interaction in the forms of those conflicts.

What I want to see? people doing stuff around the ship! Engineers don't just chill out at computer consoles all day... they FIX things! I would like to see Garrus walking through the halls, Grunt wrestling Jack in the cargo bay, or Thane sneaking into the ventilation ducts to watch Miranda take a shower.

Yes, I would like THEM to come to YOU to talk. Make them feel less like dolls in a dollhouse.

Maybe even see one of them come out of the bathroom.

your LI cheating on you with the krogan companion in the bathroom.

LOL,its a good idea to see companions talking to each other, or even doing something different or being in different places that they always are, but in the other hand is quiet hard to start doing this probably with the game in stage 4/5...just adding the companion chats during the citadel etc and elevators back is fine for me.

I also miss the "post-mission-debriefings" from ME1, where the entire team would assemble in the comms-room after a plot quest and discuss the events that took place.

I don't know if anyone has already mentioned this... It would be great that instead of one default dialog (when the characters use after all the dialog options have been used by the player), if there are different default dialogs. So those characters can use those dialogs by shuffling them.

Exp:

In ME2
1st time - Garrus:"Can it wait? Because I am middle of some calibrations"
2nd time - Garrus:"Can it wait? Because I am middle of some calibrations"
3rd time - Garrus:"Can it wait? Because I am middle of some calibrations"
4th time - Garrus:"Can it wait? Because I am middle of some calibrations"

In ME3
1st time - Garrus:"Can it wait? Because I am middle of some calibrations"
2nd time - Garrus:"There is a problem in Thanix Cannon controls. So I have to look into it. Can we talk later?"
3rd time - Garrus:"I am clearing the place. Can we talk later?"
4th time - Garrus:"Can it wait? Because I am middle of some calibrations"

:P

First, I thought this was a fantastic idea.
Then I thought, "OMG, how annoying is it going to be to find crew member X if you need to talk to them to progress the storyline?"
Then I thought, "Oh wait what if you could just ask your admin assistant (ie Kelly Chambers) where any given person was?"
Now I'm back to thinking it's a fantastic idea.

It all depends on dev resources. It's a good idea, and i definitely support it. But if the team have to decide between finishing the critical path or adding this stuff to the normandy, the critical path will always take priority.

Remember people, Mass 2 took so much work from the team that Kelly Chambers was almost cut, and only included because team members created her in their own off the clock time.

So these sorts of immersive world creating ideas are great, but a game like Mass Effect takes ALOT of work from many, many people. If it doesn't make it in, it's not for lack of want. There's only so much devs can do.

This is all cool and stuff unless Kelly is dead. Which in my game, she is.

And she was superb! i was always asking her and really helped me save a lot of time, plus the easter egg dancing was gold.

That off the clock time was well spended

That's why I said, "your admin assistant" and offered Kelly as an example rather than just say, "Kelly Chambers." In theory, you'd get someone to replace her if she died in your ME2 playthrough, or just get someone entirely new for ME3.

I think this is the biggest thing ME3 needs. I can see Kelly sauntering up to Garrus in my mind, while he's cleaning his sniper rifle. She tells him that she wouldn't mind if he "repaired" her, and Garrus would just stare at her silently, and do that thing that Turians do, where their mandibles twitch.

I would love it if there was some "downtime" where the crew would gather in the mess hall and just talk, or well a few of the crew. That you would just click on the chair to sit down and it would play out a scene over dinner, a game of cards or just a random discussion. This would be a natural way to get to know the crew and see them actually interact with eachother rather than just answering questions for me.

Exactly what I was thinking. Make it optional, but add small bonuses like Paragon points, loyalty levels, and new conversation options depending on what scene plays out.

Might have been mentioned, but I think the Dragon Age 2 thing would fit pretty well. (And given the back-and-forth between BW games, it wouldn't surprise me if something like this happened.)

As in, you go visit Garrus. Find him discussing sniper rifles with Zaeed. Who gets one more line in, nods at you and leaves.

You check up on Grunt, and he's sparring with Jack. They decided not to use weapons, so they only broke half the room. You then get to scold them. (Or join in, I suppose.)

What's Joker doing? He's arguing with Kaidan, who would like a co-pilot seat. EDI calmly and infuriatingly points out this is redundant.

Eeeetcetera.

You see such conversations happening between party members in Dragon Age 2, so I believe the same thing should apply for Mass Effect 3 as well. When out on a misson or just walking around, all 3 squad members should be able to talk to each other too, makes missions more lively.
