i don't understand the emotional investment people have in these companies. did you really feel sad because it didn't live up to your baseless expectations? i don't know whether to pity or deride.

People put emotional investments in the most trivial of things. Take the ME2 game for instance. Fundamentally it's a piece of entertainment software, and some people blow it up to be the most epic thing that has ever been written onto a DVD, and thereby subject to standards of utmost perfection, including but not limited to headgear toggle features.

And then when they get disappointed, it's a reaction like Vader's "noooo" in EpIII

I like full fledged controllable sexual intercourse with all potential love interests as a patch.

Or a night alone with Yavvone Strahovski. I'm sure she'd be ok with it. :bandit:

It had better be Mass Effect 3, Dragon Age 2, full fledged controllable sexual intercourse with all potential love interests as a patch, or the RETURN OF CHRIST HIMSELF related.

Seriously I spent a whole week going "wow BioWare's really had me by the short hairs the last several years this must be an awesome thing coming"....only to see a weak ass shark marketing ploy that is ridiculous to even bother involving yourself with even if you are eligible.

I  don't give a damn about your Tweets, I don't give a damn about your merchandising. All I care about are the games you make.

Baldur's Gate, KoToR, NWN, Mass Effect, Dragon Age: Origins, Mass Effect 2, and soon The Old Republic.

The rest of the gimcrackery can go hang.

So, in conclusion, unless you can somehow further embaress yourselves and top this PR clusterfluck you've gotten into, because at least the backlash is entertaining to read,....seriously....STFU and go work on the goddamn games.

I pulled EA out of my portfolio today, going to look for somewhere better to put the money...and I took a slight loss doing so but such is life.

Might start diversifying to publically traded smaller companies, I'm already invested in the engine builders of the industry, Epic and Id and Valve....I thought backing EA would be a good move with TOR around the corner and it probably is, but this is just pure stupidity and unlike the usual consumer I don't vote with my wallet I vote with my broker.

This was the FUNNIEST FREAKIN RANT I've ever experienced!!!!  Image IPB Seriously, I am still rollin'! Like waitin' all week when you were a kid for you ****** Jack prize, and all you get is another worthless friggin' magnifying glass.

I agree with OP.

This whole thing has got to be one of the stupidest things I've seen lately. How the **** can you put up a timer for something like a goddamn bazar thing?

If we all had stock in EA couldn't we do a gamer takover  and turn it into our company?  Don't really understand stock stuff.  I do love Warren Buffett though.

i think we over-hyped ourselves. our bad.
They did say community event.
But bioware should of said it only involves the US!!! their-bad!  :crying:

if it was a annoucement of anynew game they would of shown it at some event (E3 etc) or if your doing a countdown, it would of taken up the whole screen like gow/mgs.

This is a good point.

Please see my other response to Jaysonie.

P.S. Even responding to you, my friend, is more worthy of my time, in my opinion. So you can see, I'm setting my standard pretty low.

Agreed. Nothing wrong with what they're trying to do, just the way it was marketed sucked.  They'll never be able to use the countdown timer with interest again now.  Also the next time they say "Community" 80% of the actual community will snicker and roll their eyes and ignore it.
