It's really annoying.  Whenever I'm browsing the forums, I'd mouse-wheel click a link to open a new tab, then when I switch to it, my character's portrait is gone -- I'm signed out.
Or when I click the bookmark to my Social.Bioware home and then click the forums link, I'll get signed out.
It's not a huge issue, but I am getting annoyed by constantly having to sign in.
Anyone else experiencing this?

Nevermind this addition, about quick reply being broken.
The site's just slow.

happening to me all the time. Im trying to register my copy of Awakenings, and every time i hit the "register" key, it boots me back out to the log in page, then I log in, and have to redo it again, only to get booted out again. Seriously nerve racking...

Same here - for me, it appears to be an issue with this site and IE8. I also have Google Chrome on my system and was finally able to use the site with it. Cannot use the site with IE8, not even in compatibility mode. Quite frustrating indeed.

I have this issue, too. Booted me out while I was trying to post this. This is a new problem that surfaced a couple of days ago (March 27th or so).

I have the same problem with IE8. It worked fine in the past when the social site was new.

I deleted all my temporary internet files, cookies and all this stuff, but nothing helped.

Tyrax, I envy you. The problem has not gone away for me. :(

Changing browsers does not work if you're on HughesNet.

I hope HugesNet is doing something about the problem, or I wouldn't blame ya a bit if ya started considering alternative ISPs.

I think this is something the Bioware guys and the HughesNet guys need to discuss, actually. Why doesn't HughesNet give me problems ANYWHERE else? On any other site, ever?

Why does IE give me no problems on any other site?

And it is not so simple to change ISP like you'd change browsers. We have very few service options where I live. :(

It's always been this way for me (IE 8) and I've seen dozens of threads on the topic posted here.

Then I'm going to make a master thread. I think it's time we brought all these threads together.

Someone in another thread mentioned to uncheck the "Remember Me" checkbox on the login page. Guess what? I no longer have the problem. Give it a shot. Worked for me.

Also, fiddling with the cookie handling in IE8 didn't resolve anything for me. I tried all the settings.
BTW, the only other browser I did not have a problem using this site with is Google Chrome (and the Remember Me box was checked). Firefox had the same issues as IE8 for me. Didn't try Safari or Opera.

And for those thinking they may have issues related to their ISP, it's highly unlikely and possibly just a coincidence that those with DSL or HughesNet or WiFi are having this problem. Even if your ISP is caching the pages or not, it's likely that this is related to how this site passes cookies based on the login page and reads them on subsequent refreshes. Just my opinion.

You're right, RedSVO. Turning off Remember Me seems to have fixed the problem here too.

I'm certain it's a Bioware issue. Since most people report it worked normally for them at one point (including myself). I'm not interested in making any changes to my system whenever Bioware or anyone else makes some tweek that breaks something.

The idea of adding security systems into your web forums to prevent anyone not registered from participating (which truley boggles my mind) was not only a stupid idea, but has clearly created any number of problems.  What were you guys thinking?

They need to fix it. Till then, I'll enjoy Dragon Age Nexus site. They're more active anyway.  Hehe.

Ugh, if I hear one more thing about that blasted remember me box...

It doesn't work for me. Ever. The box is always checked no matter what I do. I uncheck it and login - guess what! Next time I'm forced to login again the box is rechecked. It won't STAY unchecked.

Hey Nightwriter,

I feel your pain. Knowing I'm not the only person impacted by the satellite/bioware interface breakdown actually makes me feel marginally better. Or at least, I now know that I have a fellow sufferer to commiserate with!

Perhaps with two of us, the bioware web gurus will care about the issue again?
