I'm pretty sure this is a PC only offer.

Are you talking about the coupon?

Thanks for the info. I just ordered it. I agree that for that price, it should be worth it. Origins is a good game, but not sure about paying the same price for an expansion.

Coupon works for xbox version. Not sure if I want to bite yet. I'm unsure how low this will go on its own.

Awesome!

Thanks.

$40 is pretty questionable and I probably wouldn't have bought it, but $20 is definitely reasonable.

Well, I couldn't find any concrete info on the EA Store website.  I checked around and they just didn't seem to have a direct answer to the question of whether downloads would expire or not.  However, I did a google search and that led me to wikipedia.   Please check the section labeled as 'criticism'.  Now, if this does not apply to consoles, I would glady stand corrected.  Does anyone know?

Oh, and btw, this is NOT a PC only promotion.  I ordered it for my PS3 and the code works normally.

Oh ok, the code worked for PS3 as well? I read above that the code works for the 360 as well, interesting. But I doubt there will be a one year limit for downloading it, because when you buy online content for the 360 you buy everything from the Xbox Live Marketplace (or from Xbox.com) and not from other stores such as the EA Store. And I have never heard about a time limit there.

maybe slightly off topic, but i bought Origins via Steam, does anyone know if will i be able to install/launch the Awakenings game if i buy the box verson and/or digital DL from EA?   -- i won't pay $40 bucks via Steam hence, the slighly offf-topic.

Yep.  I thought the 360 version was only available through Xbox Live, but I guess you can buy it from the EA store with the coupon.

I'm confused now. Are we talking about retail or dlc? Because all dlc for the Xbox 360 is bought through the Xbox Live Marketplace or through Xbox.com (unless you buy a code to redeem and download the product via Xbox Live). However, there is a retail version for the Xbox as well.

edit:
but from what I can see, the EA Store only sells digital downloads for pc (or am I wrong?). So I don't see how this code would work for the Xbox 360?

The code works for all platforms. You can have it physically shipped to you if you have a PC, XBox or PS3. You can get it for the PC as a digital download also. You get it for $19.95 plus S & H.

Unfortunately it does not pay to be first in line sometimes. It is EA's way of getting those who are sitting on the fence deciding whether to buy or not to commit.

Well at least more people may buy the expansion. But yes this price drop so close to release does leave a sour taste in the mouth.

Ok so it's only disc version for consoles? That seems right. The reason I was confused was because of the posts on the previous page where there was talk about buying digital downloads for the consoles from the EA Store, which seemed really weird to me.

Now, I could be mistaken, but I thought there was an option for console digital download, as well.  Maybe not.  Either way, Awakening is available as a digital download from the Playstation Store, so it wouldn't be that odd to see it on the EA Store.

And just to clear things up, I ordered the PS3 physical version, and shipping was FREE. I don't know if that still applies today, but it did last night.

S & H was free. 2nd day air. Mine is on the way. I did pay tax though, $1.55 for me.

Just bought it today myself with the promo code. Very happy I waited, however I was expecting to wait three months or longer for the price to fall. I feel bad for all of you that purchased the game on release day, its kinda poor form that they would have the price reduced so soon after initial release.
