Posted here for those who don't read the Awakening forum...

With a coupon code, you can purchase Awakening at the EA Store for
$19.99.  Code is PAXEAST842.  Seems like it was supposed to only
be valid on purchases over $40, but I just tried it and it worked.
Awakening might be worth $19.99, but there was no way I was paying
$39.99.

Free shipping too if you order a boxed copy instead of digital download.

I had planned to skip this expansion this time around, but I couldn't pass up this deal that is probably limited time.

Yeah I paid full price and I am pretty upset about it. It won't happen again.

Wow, this is a really good deal. And, shipping was free for some reason.

In the end, I only had to pay 19.99 plus tax.

Have to say, wouldn't get it from the EA store even if it was free. Some God awful experiences with that place.

Thanks for the link! I just bought it for $40 at Fry's, but thank God I hadn't torn the shrinkwrap off and still have receipt. I just bought it for half that price, will take other one back. I can spend the extra 20 bucks on something else now!

So, if the digital download is purchased, can it be downloaded more than once? Say, for instance, my PS3 dies out at some point, or I have to make some space on the hard drive. Can the game be downloaded again at a later date? If so, it would be nice not to have to wait for it to be shipped to me. If not, I'll stick with the boxed version for sure. Does anyone know?

Well, I've looked into it, and it turns out that you have 1 year to download your digital copy of Awakening if purchased from the EA store. Although I would love to download it over night and have it ready to install tomorrow, I am acutely aware that PS3's and 360's can, and do fail. That means that if your console fails, and it has been over a year since you made your purchase, you will be out of luck and you will no longer own this game (or any other you've downloaded over a year ago from the EA Store ). This is just one more reason that a physical product remains superior to a digital download. I'll wait the 3-5 days for my order to arrive. Oh yes, and shipping was, indeed, free.

Normally I would agree, but once the files are downloaded you can burn them to DVD and not have to worry about the EA Store again.  I didn't see any validation connection via the EA download manager when I tried to install.

That's not a "good deal", that's the "correct price for an xpac".

And a slap in the face to people who ran out and bought Awakening on release date, for a good measure. Yay!

That is a mixed metaphor. Am I supposed to be a cow or a pig? Or a mixed cow and pig? That must be it. I am a sausage! Posted Image

Yea! Brood War might have cost 40, but noone ever called that the standard for how to make a good expansion.

Up untill this one 29.99 was the standard for bioware x-pacs.Mind you this was the first one in about 7 years for them.Hordes of underdark being the last.Sales will always come and go.If you bought it day one at full price, you the consumer made the decision.

Me? if its a game I want,I'll pre-buy it.If im on the fence I'll wait untill I have extra disposable money,or the price comes down to an attractive level for me.

DA:O,ME2,And DA:A have all been put on sale within a month or so after release.Just the way it is.
