Yes, but if you put your car to make it fix, do you expect the mechanic to repair it in 5 seconds? Give BioWare some bloody time. List the bugs instead of just screaming/capslocking at them. Or censored words filled posts them. Anger doesn't solve anything. Just saying.

Some of the bugs that exist have existed since the release of DA:O and there have been 3 patches that have failed to address them.
As for the tokens? If you can't figure that one out, sorry, rent a clue and look at the rest of the forum.

@Everyone that demands patches soon : if you are so smart to order BioWare around, why don't you try fixing the bugs? You think it's easy to do?
are you that stupid? because I'm not PAID to do it. I wasn't PAID to release. I had to PAY to get it.
so it's too much to ask for competance and for a product to work?
I love responces like this...shows what a ****ing moron the poster is.
tell ya what, slick, soon as Bio puts me on their payroll I'll happily dig into it myself to fix it.
till then...grow a ****ing brain

So should I wait a bit before playing Awakening then? I've had it for a few days now and its just sitting there while I read all this horrible stuff about bugs and crashes. I was already having trouble with the new 1.03 patch, but i've done a few things like updating drivers and cleaning out my fans which were in really bad shape. But is Awakening so bugged that I cant enjoy playing it and that bugs and glitches cant be fixed by simple or known workarounds?
personally I'd return it until you're sure they fix this crap..in it's current state you're going to spend more time re-making characters..reloading and replaying prior areas to get around these idiotic bugs.
and then their's the crashes themselves...plan to crash on magic intense fights....or just by turning around.
if you can..return it until you know it's fixed...The price vs time/quality is already fubar...don't install it...and don't bother playing it if you can't return it.

they don't even ACKNOWLEDGE the bugs exist even though the tech forums are FILLED with posts goin over the same ****....
if they'd at least ACKNOWLEDGE them and that they're working to fix them..I'll give them time.
till then I paid $40 for a software that even a retard should feel ashamed to of released.

You know, I was pretty bugged and still managed to play through. Some of my characters had bad endings because I couldn't do their quests. I really didn't care enough about them to care enough that they had bad endings.
I wouldn't hold my breath for patches. There are some serious bugs still in DAO which fortunately can at least be worked around. Should modders have to fix this stuff? Probably not, but when that option is available, they will be -- but Awakenings cannot be modded at that level yet. What upsets me more is that the fixes I've made for DAO cannot be used by people on the consoles -- they're stuck with the bugged versions. The fixes I made were very fast to implement -- it's probably the number one reason to play on a PC rather than a console.

I certainly will not even attempt to install it. I read up some more and there are some serious bugs that will prevent me from enjoying the game. I also feel your pain, similar things have happened to me on numerous occasions, but it was mostly due to forgetting to save, but still some bugs are out of your control. Bugs are also the only legitmate reason for you to scream and beat at your screen and get angry at a game.

As for the bugs, I suppose that's true. You win on that sir. Sorry if I felt offensive in any way. Just had a long day.

I've always talked them up to friends as my favorite dev and defended them...held them to a high standard.
Perhaps if EA never "acquired" them things wouldn't be any different..however I can't help but think that it would...this kind of "quality" isn't the BioWare I fell in love with so long ago...and it's infuriating to see it happen.

Elevation Partners decided to offload the group. The company with the deepest pockets and best deal is going to win out. Like it or not that was EA.
At the end of the day BioWare is a business. If Elevation Partners had not come along BioWare may have had to close up shop.
It costs hundreds of thousands if not millions of dollars to make a game. Many people are used in making big budget games from voice actors to artists. Gamers expect more from their games in terms of story, eye candy, combat mechanics etc. Making games is now like making big budget films.
Every now and then an independent game or film maker will make a gem, but they are far and few.
I guess it could have been worst. Bioware could have Monte Cristo (Silverfall), or Dreamcatcher Interactive (Dungeon Lords) as publisher/owner.

Keep noted that BG2 had the infamous NPC appears busy bug. Talk about game breaking. Don't know how fast it got fixed, but I personally wasn't able to play the game properly until 2004, when I got an internet connection. 4 years for a patch seems pretty much a lot right? But I got even worse, so that might explain my complete calm-like effect on this topic...Suron wrote...

You mean like the player that fixed the stealing bug? They left bugs in that players are fixing practically overnight. So, yes, Bioware are not looking spectacularly competent at the moment.

I would have very little patience if it was the mechanic who messed my car to start with. But it sounds like you must take public transportation.

Anyway, a "paralyze" spell went off while I was "flickering." Now as you know, there is no character model when you are in flicker, it's simple a blur animation that goes across the screen. Since I got paralyzed while in flicker, I no longer exist! I have no character model, and I don't even know where I am. Reload.

If you think they're so inept, don't buy/play any more of their games. Your blood pressure isn't worth it.
For my pleasure, what bugs? Game works perfectly fine for me. *shrug*
Inept companies don't ebcome as successful as BIO has. *shrug*

and my LAST SAVE IS THREE GODDAMN HOURS AGO
While the glitch is annoying, your main problem is right here.
That's not a fair assumption, every RPG I've ever played I've lived off of auto saves and quick saves, I've never had the need to make individual titled saves. Apparantly in DA:A it's become a damn requirement.
PC gaming perhaps. Longtime console gamers like myself are compulsive about saving.
No offense but I don't care what you do or don't do on any console or platform, but people don't need to tell me that it's my fault cuz I didn't save enough, what I already do should suffice. I shouldn't have to constantly save, because of game bugs and crashing, I can honestly say this is the only game that I've played that this seems to be a requirement in order to play

Look we are all annoyed about the bugs but we can live with what we've got. There are people who live on the streets humilating themselves for food while we moan that a new game has a few problems.
I bet they'd be pissed if they paid their hard earned money on something that doesn't work right. Don't sit here and try to take the high and mighty road on this, cuz I'm no buying it. Would you feel the same if your car or t.v. was doing the same things? Doubtful!
