As many many many people would have noticed, there is a large sum of annoyed and disgruntled BioWare Social members out there that have been cut off and un-officially branded "non-community".

Many of us have taken to flaming the announcment post but we have seen little to no responce from the EA and BioWare staff.

What BioWare has done today, is on par with what SOE took 5 years to perfect, yet there has been no official "we are sorry" nor any attempt to make up for the fact that the rest of the world doesnt seem to register to the company.

So, i ask this: What is BioWare/EA going to do about their less then acceptable performance?

Keep in mind, BioWare, you are launching an online game in the comming year and without the "non-community" support...you will lose out.

Can you blame them? A lot of people were pretty pissed off by the whole fiasco.

I'm pretty sure we aren't going to get any response and they are going to carry on like it's business as usual.

Yup, pity for them is that allllll the old Star Wars Galaxies players WILL NOT go through the same sh....i mean...stuff...as we did with Sony Online Entertainment.

And just to make my point clear, id even post this BS on other forums (AIon, WoW, SWG and so forth).

As long as Chris get's paid, he can care less. He'll lock down threads and act like nothing has happenned. We need a pit of death to kick the messenger into.

Understand that they are a business and any response likely has to go through 30 people and multiple drafts. The fact that they don't appear to have one prepared shows a certain lack of foresight though.

I admit, i have no ill will towards the "messengers" as they had no say in this. I won't accept an apology from someone that did not do any wrong, other than post what they were told to.

I'd want the staff RESPONSIBLE for this choice to have to explain why we aren't part of the community and to do something in an attempt at reparations.

Supposedly FL and NY have crappy contest laws and regulations. Not an official statement, but that's what everyone is assuming.

It seems rather brash to push the non-community aside as if out money doesn't pay their wages.

Im not pissed about us not getting access...i could probably buy the stuff from people on E-bay afterwards if i wanted it.

Im making this point because we buy their games, we register here and all...they put on this big deal about an epic community event...and then AFTER its released, they tell us "oh, you aren't invited".

Why screw with so many people when they could have simply posted a single line saying "For US residents only"? They f'ed up and they need to do something about it.

Has anyone else considered that this could be the April fools joke?

I doubt they meant to push anyone aside, their lack of foresight on our reactions to such a hyped announcement though was a very bad move, you would think people like Chris and Stanley Woo would have seen this coming 2000 miles away... It's hard to understand why they didn't make things clear this would be US only, just a small statement on that prior to the mad speculation thread and the excitement it engendered would have done a lot to calm people down.

As it is now you have people who usually don't make a fuss completely outraged, that's never a good thing.

That would be the most epic April's fool I've ever seen.

Therefore I doubt it.  =]

I dont think Bioware thinks that you all are not a part of the community, I really just think it was a significant marketing **** up, I mean a BAD **** up, but I would not take it to mean Bioware doesnt consider yall part of the community. Blame EA, thats what I am doing.

by you all I mean to say that I am in the states, and am participating in the contest. Hopefully next time it will be fixed up and made better. Or they will make an international version.

Again its not as if Bioware prefers the states, there are shipping regulations and the laws of various countries that make international competitions a pain in the ass, and considering that EA is biowares money holder, its likely they had something to do with the states only concept. ..but why not canada, that actually has me thinking..

Agreed, but for all we know they were in the middle of sorting out the legal crap when they put up the timer. It is a very small oversight that led to the implication that we are not part of the community.

None of us would care if the timer had not gotten us all excited.

For me it's the first and last time I'll get trolled by EA/Bioware.

Another disappointment like this and I'm done here.

I may as well go after torrents than supporting this kind of crap.

SOE has done this before, a US residents only occurrence. They told us about it and we didn't care (example, the Trading Card tournaments which give great in-game rewards are for US only). Simply because they told us before hand that it was a US event and didn't hype it up as a community based event.

BioWare did hype it up and make it seem like everyone would be included, they f'ed up.

Exactly. A minor error that has snowballed and offended a lot of us.

I can just imagine Two Bioware employees wandering onto the site and saying:

"Oh ****, Chris forgot to write U.S. only"

Considering these things are checked and rechecked for legal reasons, i doubt that.
It seems like they didn't think it would be a big deal, which offends me even more.
