Here is a point though mate, if that was the case, wouldn't it have been fixed in the 6 days they had? or wouldnt they have posted something to the effect of "oh damn, major typo"...hells, if they did that, id be all good.

They cut us out and haven't done anything to resolve things = they MAJORLY f'ed up on this one.

PS. sorry if i seem offensive, im rather blunt when it comes to making a point ;p but i can easily see your point of view.

For me it's the first and last time I'll get trolled by EA/Bioware.

Another disappointment like this and I'm done here.

I may as well go after torrents than supporting this kind of crap.

I will admit, the thought does make me laugh. I could see them waking up in the morning, reading the posts and giving themselves a good ol' facepalm, saying "ahhhh crap".

It doesn't bother me that much, also, it's been historically proven America is better than all the other countries nobody cares about.

While I'm just as disappointed and disgruntled as anybody else who's been cut out of this competition, I have to say that this kind of behaviour is not unusual in the world of online marketing and competitions. The costs involved in extending a competition to multiple countries and dealing with the maddening tangle of specific regional laws regarding contests and games of chance (many countries have laws or restrictions against 'gambling', even if no item of true monetary value is actually being wagered) is extensive enough that it's usually far more cost effective to just exclude those regions. Ultimately the decision probably just came down to a question of, "Can we afford this?" And the answer was "No."

Like PG though, my main source of disappointment in Bioware was the unsaid expectation that this awesome community event would be available to everyone who was a member of said community. Nobody likes to have their hopes shattered. It would have been better if you'd just sprung the announcement on us from the start.

Good luck to everyone who's entering the contest though.

Can you blame them? A lot of people were pretty pissed off by the whole fiasco.

I'm pretty sure we aren't going to get any response and they are going to carry on like it's business as usual.

Or they are going to start banning non community members that dissaprove of biowares actions.

Stop living in the past.
World War 2's over, move on.
Besides, America won it, saving the world, like they are doing so right now.

Er. One note.

As somebody noted, an official response has to go through... well, y'know. Officials. That takes a bit of time.

And it's been TWELVE HOURS.

I agree, it's a pretty colossal oversight to begin with, but the lack of a response so far isn't the slight.

No they didn't, the russians did most of the dirty work. If you're being serious then this is the typical elitism i am sick and tired of seeing.

History major here - one who took a course on Russian history even.

And SithLordExarKun is correct.  The Soviet Union had Germany beat - D-Day was the USA's panic at the thought of the USSR gaining control of Germany.  The big push was America trying to get to Germany first, and at their best speed they met the Russians there.
That's why there was that whole East and West Germany thing.

To many American politicians at the time, Stalin and Communism were a far bigger worry than the SS and their conquest of Europe.

I KNOW THIS HURTS YOU, BIOWARE

In all seriousness, if this is all EAs fault as everyone is speculating then I have to say I feel sorry for Bioware. If that is the case then the reason we aren't hearing from them may well be that they are restricted from saying something like, "Hey, this isn't our fault! It's EA! We're sorry guys." It might be interpretted as slanderous against EA or some foolishness, knowing how touchy a lot of companies are.

Also, I don't think it's fair to say this is some kind of act of American superiority. Remember the little Floridians and New Yorkers that were left out, too. :(

Yup. It was Russia who broke down the N@zys and the absurd American myth of them saving the world is only more revolting when you find out they were SELLING ARMS TO GERMANY which kept fueling the British-German conflict!

Don't be ridiculous. The Russians saved everyone giving the "Calvary" time to arrive.

Feeding weapons to the hostile party to make money, then wriggling your hands not wanting to take a stance on the conflict, and finally only entering the war by declaring a conflict with Japan, which further delays your overall entrance against the "real" threat Germany to the point when all forces are at their weakest hardly gives the US any room to declare themselves saviours or heroes.

Britain did a fantastic job of holding things off, but what Russia did deserves the standing ovation.
