I've done tons and tons of retexturing elsewhere, but here, it eludes me.

The wiki is either completely inadequate or I'm just unable to find what I'm looking for.

Where do I find the textures for certain armors?

How do I hook new textures in to "material types"? (or whatever I have to do)

My primary goal is making some female light armor that doesn't have an exposed chest (it looks awful and it's ****ing stupid).

Any help to push me towards this goal would be appreciated :)

Okay, lost again.

I got down this far:

4. With these 3 Strings, and Dragon Age's Naming Scheme you can find the binary MMH Main Modelfile.

5. In this File is a hidden reference to the MAO Material file.

Um, I went to those pages but yeah, this is an amazing lack of explanation as far as tutorials go. WHERE are the model files? I find myself in need of exporting the models right now and naturally, I cannot find.

My decision to mod this game is really biting me in the ass, but I'm unfortunately, not the kind to give up. Sometimes I wish I were.

God our tools are so much better, I have no idea how these people manage to produce a game at all.

I think I have better things to do.

i think the model files are in an erf. i have not done any texturing, so i am not sure what exactly you need, but in the toolset if you go to

File->Open and then navigate to

C:/ProgramFiles/Dragon Age/packages/core/data

there should be a textures.erf and modelmeshdata.erf and materials.erf, etc. I'm not sure which one you need but i am assuming it would be here.

you'd then need to right-click and extract the resources you need. now... how you know which resources you need... i'm not sure, i have never looked into any of this, this is all a guess from my putzing around the toolset. =/

hopefully someone who actually knows what they are doing will step in here. i really do understand your frustration though, Aisynia
