I'm gonna be playing a silly game. Insanity, of course.
If there's a choice, every character has to have a fire-based power.
(That means Miranda gets excluded after Mordin's recruitment, as Jacob has incendiary ammo, and Mordin has incinerate)
Every character will max their fire based attack before putting points in anything else.
Making an exception for Zaeed ... he's allowed to put points elsewhere if he saves 9 points for inferno grenade.
No loading mid-mission ... death = restart mission.
Though I'm tempted to play infiltrator, I reckon I'd just resort to sniping rather than be a pyro ... so engineer it is.
Besides, engineers can be demolishers ... moar fire damage ftw.
This is gonna be so silly .. lots of screaming organics forthcoming.

Be sure to use only the flamethrower from Zaaed's loyalty mission as your heavy weapon.

Already got that covered. I always take that 'cos it's small, and yellow, and looks good.

Rather than worrying about squadmate's powers, maybe just make yourself a Vanguard or Soldier with Incendiary Grenade and Incendiary Ammo.

Well, the problem with inferno grenade, I can't seem to select it ... it's not there as an option.

Don't forget about Inferno Armor. A Vanguard would be perfect; Inferno Ammo, Inferno Grenade, Firestorm, Inferno Armor. Then plus Grunt and Jacob. SPREAD THE FIYA!

Here's a build:
10 Inferno Ammo
10 Heavy Charge
10 Destroyer
10 Heavy Inferno Grenade
Claymore
Jacob:
10 Inferno Ammo
10 Heavy Barrier
10 Passive
Grunt:
10 Inferno Ammo
10 Heavy Fortification
10 Krogan Warlord
The reason I picked Destroyer is that I don't feel that a pyromaniac is going to be charismatic individual who puts hope into those around him.

You know grunt starts with 1 point in concussive shot?

I did something similar for my Vanguard. Except I went cryo. Felt like Sub-Zero

Well on Xbox there is a glitch to remove their native points and I'm sure on PC there is a way to do it. I know some people are purists and don't like changeing the shipped game. But to be honest the fact that I can't max out any skill I want on my teammate becuase some guy from Bioware was all like "Grunt needs one point in CShot" is complete -Blam!-. I am a purist myself but feel that is the one thing I change when I play the game on Xbox.Tlazolteotl wrote...

This is a challenge game.
No cheating. Probably should have put that in the rules up top ...
I'm not doing too badly with my engineer, though ... took jacob to mordin's recruitment for squad incendiary.
Immediately after, did zaeed's loyalty, saving 9 points for heavy inferno grenade.
Pwned garrus' recruitment and jack recruitment with zaeed & jacob.
Will be doing grunt recruitment and horizon tomorrow.

On the PC it won't show up when you start a game but you can respec into it with Advanced Training after Mordin's mission

While we're on the concept of challenge games, how would a Cryo Team look?
It would be cool to take Engy to get two Cryo Blasts, but you'd need Squad Cryo Ammo for a third squadmate.

omfg, those salarian engineers were the most annoying thing next to ME1's "ENEMIES EVERYWHERE! GO GO GO! HOLD THE LINE!"
Also, Eclipse vanguards' "Destabalizing their integrity!" or whatever.
On topic; Sounds like fun; I might try this.

Well, I made up the pyro challenge 'cos I found myself picking characters like miranda and samara all the time.
Maybe I'm not remembering it well, but Mordin is the only character apart from shep that has a cryo power?
Being able to choose anyone for the second squadmate sorta turns it into a standard game.
And the Avalanche is awesome (compared to the Firestorm).
