No I didn't mean it in that context. Fox News looked bad over this debacle shortly after they did it in 08. It's good that you are posting though. People think that there is not enough nudity in ME2 because of this, but Bioware has stated to the contrary and DA would show evidence of this if it that were the case.shinobi602 wrote...

Oh, yea I agree. I know the story itself is old news, but I think this is the first time Bioware actually responded to it quite literally.
You're right also, I don't understand why so many people think the scenes in ME2 are toned down because of Fox. If that's the case, then DA's scenes would be much more tame than they are, especially considering the same-sex scenes. You guys really think they "caved" because of Fox? Come on.

Dragon Age pushed things, but no nudity, unless you mod. Still, it was handled well. You can't say they backed down there.
I would have thought Mass Effect 2 would push it even more, I hoped for this, because I know BioWare can push things and do so tastefully...however, ME2 was a big step backwards.

Oh, wait. You said "was embarassed." My bad. Bioware should be proud. Managing to pound a fact through the think skulls of FN and it's viewer base is a feat to be remembered.

She was sitting there comparing it to porn, and she hadn't even looked at the video game AFAIK.Rook41 wrote...
I do love how the one lady, Cooper Lawrence's book was spammed with tons of one star reviews on Amazon.com with people saying that although they hadn't read the book, it was awful.

Oh, you're not kidding. I bought ME1 at the recommendation from Fox News and boy was I disapointed. Do you have any idea how much time I spend looking for the "boob size" slider at character creation? And then in the game Liara didn't have the "let's have sex" dialogue option! You have to talk to her first to form a relationship.Dualfinger wrote...
quite frankly the game probably would have been more entertianing if Fox was right...
And as final insult when you finally get to the sexscene after 30+ hours, it lasts about a minute and there's no hard core porn in sight, it's all loving, cuddly stuff.
Sigh.
No, I didn't buy it at Fox's recommendation. But it never failed to amuse me that they had an "expert" at that show who had no idea about what she was talking about and even admitted it.

There's a difference between objectively providing both sides to an argument and outright lying to promote your own opinion.JohnnyDollar wrote...
The fact that people are so vocal regarding their dislike or hatred of Fox News only provides that much more evidence that their needs to be both sides presented in the media. Not just one side.
Mind you, I have never seen news network that wasn't 100% objective - it's made by people who have opinions after all. But again (because it bears repeating), being opiniated does not mean you should go and spread falsehoods.

That swings both ways. Falshoods and promoting of opinion are spread throughout all media.Raygereio wrote...

The left wing no longer has a monopoly on the media any more. I for one
am glad Fox News exists. The fact that people are so vocal regarding their dislike or hatred of Fox News only provides that much more evidence that their needs to be both sides presented in the media. Not just one side.

Because PR people *never* make things up to cover their own asses, right?
DA has no nudity, and it's sex scenes are things of comic hilarity. It's self-censorship, and they're just trying to deny it.

Apart from the underwear that mysteriously appears, the main problem is that the protagonist has an expressionless face.
It makes everything comical.

Bioware has stated otherwise and DA also had s/s content which ME2 does not have. It may be self censorship, but you don't know that for fact. Saying they are just trying to deny it doesn't mean that they are.CmdrFenix83 wrote...

You do realise that whenever one side has more than one option, their demographic gets split?
Sounds like you're the target audience for fox .. hook and sinker.
Take Monsanto for an example.
While I'm sick of the left wingers giving them crap over every little thing, Fox went to court in order to get the right to deliberately lie to their audience. And they won.
That isn't just stupid, that makes the right wing look bad.
