Or are Biowares Fanbase really made up of such ignorant, reactionary, delusional, overdramatic, volatile people?
I really don't understand who in their right mind would get excited over a community event (epic or not).

Yes. It is clearly our fault for thinking that some big community event (It used a counter, for goodness sakes!) would be epic and, ya know...community wide.
That doesn' t change the fact that people were getting excited over a COMMUNITY event.
Do you understand what that word means? Community = Fail
All you need for proof of that is to just browse around these boards every now and then. This community brings on the Fail every single day.

...So you're basing all of this on your personal opinions? Isn't that a bit fallacious to say "Oh, I've had a sh!t experience, so everyone else must have had a sh!t experience, too!"

People seriously love getting their outrage on. That's not going to change.ImperialOperative wrote...

It should be obvious to anyone with half a brain that the reason its US only and excludes FL and NY is due to legal complications of this sort of thing, and the "Epic Community Event" thing was an unfortunate slip-up and not meant be a slight against anyone.
Of course people love to take things like this personally, and yell and make noise and act all outraged. Really its kind of pointless - as Bioware's hands are currently rather tied on the issue.
Unfortunate? Yes. But there are much worse things in life than not being able to win free stuff.

Typing a date in wrong is an unfortunate slipup. False advertising is morally reprehensible and just plain stupid. Failure to understand that lying to people will anger them makes you a ****ing idiot.

Because its totally in Bioware's interest to do such things. In fact I'll bet there was some marketing guy sitting in a dim room, lit only by his computer monitor stroking his thin mustache chuckling to himself "Heheheh ... this'll show those foreign bastards ... also everyone in New York and Florida, no one likes those states anyways" right?Sloth Of Doom wrote...

Its not false advertising because they aren't trying to sell you anything. Its not lying, its an oversight. A mistake? Yes, obviously. I'm not trying to claim it wasn't a !@#$-up, but people are reading more into it than there is.

By the way, while the main defensive argument is the "legal reasons", is there an example about some worldwide competition, which include few more countries than U.S.?
