I never have had much interest in any of the LI's TBH. I picked Ash in ME1 and I think I'll just stick with her. If I could have Samara, then I might reconsider.

I liked Samara, but for me I am most like Tali.  We are both willing to express emotions but we both don't take crap from anyone.  We are both interested in tech (honestly one of my favorite parts of the Codex) but we both aren't pushovers intellectually.

I just have a lot in common with Tali, which is why I like her. I can understand why others wouldn't though.  By the way, you should visit the Liara thread, page 442, then go to the Tali thread, page 4952 or something like that.  Very interesting occurences.

Yes that was very reavealing and interesting.  Quite a comparison contrast of two threads.  That's 4955 BTW.

As part of the rumored Dating DLC, they should give Shep the option of sending a nice poem to Ashley if you decided to let her live in one of your playthroughs.

Something like:

Roses are red,

violets are blue.

Miranda, Jack and Tali

are all better than you.

I will post this again.

Well one thing we find attractive about Ashley is she is human, there aint a more real caracter in ME. She aint a sinner she aint a saint, she has her own views and she sticks to her guns. She is still loyal to Shepard (the letter is proof) and she loves him, but Ash cant just go awol from the Alliance! Her family history should tell you why.

Ash loves Shepard but he says jump she say's why if she dosent like it, i hate the fact Tali follow's Shepard around without a opinion on anything other than the Geth she should hate Cerberus alot more than Ash. Some people dont like how real Ash is but we do, and she seem's right for Shepard she has the most in common with him. She notices Shepards flaws too and jokes about them like his terrible chat up lines and is the only caracter that makes Shepard feel human too.

There's just so much to love about Ash!

Her love for her family and willingness to sacrifice herself for the greater good and to redeem her family honor. Her strength, she has a high spirit and wont give up on what she want's and if you got in the way of that she is gonna kick your ass, lol. Her love for poetry, and clubbing, she like's to dance.

Ash is a traditionalist, she joined the Alliance part of her family tradition, she has a drink every armacist day and marks it as a obligation, and she read's her fathers favourite poem to his grave everytime she goes home. Ashley claim's she isn't one for words, but her interest in poetry helps her to say what she feels.

Ash dosent seem the type to settle down but i think she would wed and have kids to carry on the family and for love. She will protect her family at all cost's, she traveled home just to walk her sister to school, and she is willing to put up a fight against anyone who call's her grandad a traitor or a coward for saving live's at Shanxi rather than accepting the inevitable defeat if they kept fighting back and the much larger casualty count. Ashley claims ''a Williams has to be better than the best'' to make up for Shanxi, making her dedicated to her job but also blunt and quick-tempered.

She went to the same boot camp as Commander Shepard, Macapá, Brazil. And they both reminisce about there time there and about Gunnery Chief Ellison. She is a natural leader and her old squad praised her tough but fair" discipline.
Ash dosent like people dying for her, she blaimed herself for her squad getting killed and for Jenkins (even though she never meet him) and she blaimed herself for Kaidan when it was not even her choice.

When not on duty she spends her time's cleaning rifle's, i guess to clear her head or so she is alway's ready for anything to happen, maybe both. Ash has a ear to the ground she hear's all the scuttlebutt (gossip) before anyone else.

Ashley also has strong religious beliefs, but she is hesitant about discussing them with Shepard because people sometimes get weirded out by them. Ash's faith is enhanced by her work in space - "how can you look out at this galaxy and not believe in a higher power?" - and she's confident that her father, who passed away, is with God now. She still knows his favorite poem, Tennyson's Ulysses, off by heart.

Due to her time groundside she has never worked with aliens and is has a hard time trusting them, that being said, Ashley isn't xenophobic. Though she doesn't hesitate to shoot Wrex if she truly believes he presents a threat to Shepard on Virmire, she happily volunteers to go with Captain Kirrahe's team and works well with the salarians, respecting their tenacity and skill. Also, despite her belief that humans need to rely on themselves, she dismisses Terra Firma as a group of ''racist's'' and xenophobic "jackals" who have replaced the originally noble aims of the party with anti-alien paranoia. Eventually Ash comes around, content to work with the Normandy's multi-species crew to stop the Reapers.

Ash like's to tease and joke, "if you want me in a tinfoil miniskirt and thigh-high boots, you'll have to buy me dinner first... sir." and ''Shepard before you go, i just wanna say....wait you no what? im not telling. You wanna hear this your just gonna have to come back to me''

This is why i love Ash, and no doubt the same can be said for the rest of the Ash fans Try and find that much personality and realism in any other caracter, becuase you wont! lol.

Funny how some people dont realise there hate is love, the fact you hate the caracter shows that you got a emotional response from her and that show's Bioware how much of a great job they did with Ash. She has made people love or hate on her for her personality and views and that just shows how amazing the caracter is. Also the fact people hate on her for having faith in a higher power speaks volumes about how small minded and dull some people are.

That dosent make sense lol at some troll's.

And i aint religious, but i would hear people out on there views and accept it, i would'nt hate them for believing in something, especially when they work in the military a job where death is around every corner.

Agreed. Indifference is the mark of a lousy character. the only bioware character I felt that way towards was T3-M4.

Also the fact people hate on her for having faith in a higher power speaks volumes about how small minded and dull some people are.

"I killed her because she's a religious fanatic" is funny reasoning though. I've heard it afew times, and how people cannot see the hypocrisy in that amuses me.

Sky was quite forgettable, for being the only male potential LI in a bioware game, I sorta expected more.

(a great , lenghty post)

Well said. Too many players are obviously very superficial and only care about shooting stuff. Ironically enough, Ashley is very good at that too, but there's also much more to her character. But unfortunately people will never see if they don't want to see. Maybe it also has to do with some people not being able to deal with strong characters in video games, especially female ones, who have their own mind and opinions and don't immediately fall for and submit to their PC.

I like her, I just preferred Liara out of the two LI choices given in ME1.

Ashley is just one thing- a problem! It's cool that people call her Ash because she turned into ash in my game!

She wasn't too bad, but kind of annoying. I was like o_0 when she used the "look at the trees!" argument to justify her belief in God.
