URL points should be capped at 5k.

I agree, or something similar.

Because of this URL loophole and it not having any sort of hard cap, it's completely destroyed the contest. You could register all games, or take all questionaires, create a character, and by some holy act of god win every single challenge, and even meet the 500 token daily URL quota, and your still not going to have a snowball's chance in hell of competing with guys like him that either cheated or somehow have the ability to get those kinds of hits.

That's sad because it means you could just come off the street, never even played a Bioware game or contributed to a forum and win the best prizes without anyone being able to even compete with you.

I'm sorry, but that's just not the way to run a contest.

Summed it up perfectly.

Very true. I mean, I understand they have to have some method for some people to get ahead somehow, as it isn't like they can just leave it at the registrations/questionairres and nothing else because everyone would all have the same amount of tokens then. The Twitter challenges are at least fair...the referral is just too easily abused, and I would say the 500 tokens a day limit on that should be enforced with no 1 extra token per extra click. They should find another way to help give people the edge, one that is just more fair and less...stupid

For serious. I seem to be neck and neck with most of the front runners here, but there could easily be people like that image on the previous page getting over 9,000 clicks per day just because they own a popular website.

The trouble with having every point system be capped is that people are (statistically) unlikely to win more than one Twitter contest.

So the big prize items would all end up with tie bids.

6020 points total for me. Does anyone know what they are generally looking for in the tweet responses? I was just answering the questions, but then I started trying to say clever/funny stuff using the lines. Idk.
Shameless Link post: http://social.bioware.com/brc/78221

EDIT: Apparently I didn't link it. For shame...

I don't think they are looking for much of anything. I think they are randomly choosing some responses and giving out rewards.

It's not too late for them to fix it.  Just set the cap at 500 tokens a day from URL and reset the values for everyone based on that.   Lot's of people are going to get nowhere near the 50 unique clicks a day, and they shouldn't be excluded from having any kind of chance to win something.  Which they definately are right now.

I mean a monkey in a suit could have seen that rule was a nightmare waiting to happen, how could nobody have done something?

The way it stands they shouldn't even have bothered making it a community event, because a diehard community supporter that has been on the boards since they started and bought and played religously every singly Bioware game since Bioware started, has no better chance then some guy who never heard of Bioware but read an article on the Bazaar at IGN, and want's a free PC.   And if he owns a porn website or something like that that gets a lot of hits, and he's got it made.

Hey guys, in my desperate bid for tokens, I have been banned from five different forums already for spamming. I looked these forums up on the Internet, made accounts, and spammed.

I got around 20-30 clickthroughs this way.

Wow.

What good is that though? 5 forums for 30 clicks, and if your over the daily quota it's only 30 tokens. You need a steady renewable source anyway, having someone click on your link once and then never look at it again because you got banned from a forum is gonna get you nowhere fast.

I still have Facebook, but I really want to avoid spamming links to real friends... They might think that my account has been compromised by a spambot.

And plus, I have gone through my quota already, so I am generating just one token per click now.

XX55XX - Well at least you got some clicks out of that. Though personally I rather keep my personal dignity intact and keep myself on the few things I have devoted myself on doing XD. That mentality is just going to get me like zero tokens.

ShepardOsiris- Yeah totally agree with you. I know those people have an advantage against most because they own or apart of a popular web site, but that advantage shouldn't be such a huge factor where it destroys the competition.

I spammed so much over the internet. I'm getting nice slow income, but I've wasted way too much time one this. If I don't keep it up, this income will drop.

I'm at 7121 right now. This is taking up so much of my time. LOL if only I owned some popular website or something... And I agree, Bioware NEEDS TO FIX THIS. Anyone who is able to post something on a website that a lot of traffic to it HAS AN UNGODLY ADVANTAGE. Now there are a total of 6 Computers being auctioned, and i guarantee that there are at least 6 who have this advantage. So all us normal people, no computers for us. =(

I refuse to sign up for facebook and myspace, only signed up for twitter so I could partake in this "challenge." Seems people like me don't stand a chance at winning anything. Sucks that the people who have huge internet followings (and don't even need to be a "BioWare fan") stand a better chance of winning something than the die-hard fans do. I would hate to admit how many hours I've spent over the past years playing BioWare games, so it really bums me out that I most likely won't get a single tiny prize.

I'm sitting at barely over 6k tokens, and since everyone else is doing it, I'll post my link (which never links, what am I doing wrong?).

Satire: Yours Links Fine Tho the sites hyperlinking Perameters may be somewhat wonky.

Just copy and paste into your address bar and it will work. Hopefully the 404 problem still grants you tokens. Mine does the same thing.
