We've also got our twitter messaging process improved so it is much less work for us to contact you and get your tokens awarded.

Jesse, does tweeting multiple times increase one's chances of being selected for judging? I am just curious. I really do appreciate your updates here.Jesse.Reid wrote...
Not sure on the exact number as it varies per challenge but we don't just pick people at random and choose them all to be winners.

Today I spent 8 hours in front of my desktop or dragging my laptop around sending modified answers every 5 minutes(ish) and had no luck.
It would be great if we could get some clarity how we should go about entering our challenge responses.
I'm not complaining, just kind of frustrated and wonder what you guys WANT us to do..

Only the last submission counts.
And what proof of this do you have? The rules are very vague on the multiple submission criteria, and they also say ALL submissions will be judged, not a random sampling, which we now know is what is being done.
Since it is being done by a random sampling before judging, how can they possibly know which one is your last submission? If they take say 3 random groups of 200 tweets from various times out of the whole of 1500 or whatver it is. You could easily have replied 10 times and only have say 2 tweets in the sampling and they could be anywhere in your timeline. They could be your first 2 tweets, your last 2 tweets, or any combination in the middle.
Your logic is flawed.

Exactly, would love some clarification on this. My hopes of racking up tokens for this contest are rather slim now. However, if we get other similar contests in the coming week, I'd like to know a few details such as how multiple submissions work and whether the random sampling includes all tweets, not just the latest one for each person.ShepardOsiris wrote...

None, as it turns out. I was informed the rules specified that but I can't find it. However, Jesse has said that only one entry per participant is being considered per challenge.ShepardOsiris wrote...

Twitter is chronological.ShepardOsiris wrote...

My statement had nothing to do with logic.ShepardOsiris wrote...

I do believe only one entry per participant is enforced, but not all entries are judged, only a random sampling. So, if for example, someone made 10 entries over the course of the contest, spreading them out so they aren't all clumped up, they would have a higher chance of being in this random sampling.

We take the last entry as the one to be judged. So if you spelled something wrong or came up with something better we are assuming you did that with your last message and are using that one for judging. That is the part about editing your entry in the rules which is a little confusing since its Twitter and you don't actually edit your entry but create a new one. We know what is your last entry because Twitter's API timestamps everything.
Great! Thanks for clarifying Jesse!

That makes sense if you have 2 tweets or more from someone in your sample, but the question still remains what about if the person has tweets outside your random sample? If I post say 6 tweets, and your sampling has 2 of them in it, OK fine, you take my latest tweet as the official one, but what if those 2 tweets are my first 2 or middle 2?
The only way you would know is if you checked my entire timeline for all 6 tweets, is that what your doing? I still would like this cleared up.
How is the sample taken? Are you selecting random patches of tweets? Or random users? Or what exactly? You still haven't really made any of that ultra clear. I'm just trying to better understand this situation better, The rules have some very vague explanations in some areas.
Thanks for any help you can offer, and for the clarifications you already have.
