Okay, so Infiltrators have disruptor ammo and incinerate, so that's two defenses down. What do all you Insanity infiltrators do about barriers? I'm kinda thinking reave, but I don't really like putting biotics on non biotic characters. Is it doable by bringing Thane and Miranda everywhere?

You could go Warp Ammo to keep yourself from constant reave spam.

It's not totally necessary since you can just use the SMG. With the penetration upgrade, it will do double damage to shields and barriers. That upgrade is available after getting two SMG damage upgrades, I think.

If you're intent on having something specific for beating barriers, Thane and/or Miranda's Warp can work too, but the cooldown is a bit longer (9 or 12 seconds). You could get Jack's Squad Warp Ammo too.

Try this team setup. Your Infiltrator with ae Incinerate (armor), Miranda with ae Overload (shield), and Samara with ae Reave (barrier). Now you have powers that can strip any type of defense.

if you get warp ammo then you don't need to put points into incinerate (warp is good against barrier, armor, and health)

Yeah, but incinerate is awesome against the last boss ;p

Cain is even awesomer. :P

I put all points into the passives
Disruptor Ammo
Tactical Cloak
Cryo Ammo
Operative

I avoided incierate since what I want ed is for my cloak to be available as much as possible. Sneaking up to an Drone and using a sun machine gun with Cryo to kill at 0 risk is a wonderful thing. Tale a squadmate with Squad Icendiary Ammo  for taking down armored husks and use disruptor vs mechs and Geth.

Squadies can fill the other holes don't obsesses on filling them with Shep, it is actually makes for a slower play through.

I would give Shepard Heavy Warp ammo and then bring Zaeed with Squad Disruptor Ammo with me on missions with Geth enemies.

I put 1pt into Neural Shock. Not only has this saved me countless times, but it frees up points to get Squad Cryo, which has also saved me countless times.

For best results against barriers, press the left mouse button.;)

ME2 - CQC Infiltrator - Horizon

Lol.

Well, SMG shield piercing > barrier. Widow + headshot > barrier.

Heck, I may love incinerate, I really do, but headshot snipe > armour. Although, incineration blast is awesome vs multiple targets.

Yeah, think I'm gonna go heavy warp ammo/squad cryo. As soon as I finish readying my new ME1 character for import. God, it's so archaic now.

My Infil has Heavy Reave. Figured if its given to you, why not?

However if you really don't want to use Reave and want to stick to a "non" Biotic power then I'd take Zaeed's inferno grenade attack.

Reave though, especially Heavy Reave is a monster against shields.

My infil has this set up:

Heavy Reave.

Heavy Incernerate

Heavy Disruption ammo (Works best against inorganics)

Assassin

Assassination Cloak

Reave in my opinion is too useful not to have. It'll stun your opponent if its shields are down and heal you if your target is an organic. Perfect time for SMG burst or headhot.

You really don't need anti-barrier powers with the Infiltrator because it already deals so much damage. Just use the Viper to take down barriers at a distance or your squad-mate abilities. If you use Viper with cryo ammo, you can freeze the enemy with the first shot to its health. Once you get the Widow, you can instakill most enemies anyway even if they have barriers.

Bleh, I'm stuck at horizon in NG+ cause I made some bad choices in regards to my spec. Taking a bonus instead of squad cryo, for example. Or not getting many upgrades...

*sighs* Damn, I suck. I'm tempted to restart.

Just retrain-- it's only 2500 element zero. I've been doing that for different missions, like getting squad disruptor before fighting Geth.

You can't retrain until after horizon?

Does Grunt or Jacob have squad incendiary ammo, or leftover points to pick that up?
Take one of them with you if they do.

Yeah personally for Barriers I just bring teammates with Warp/Reave and use SMG or Viper (or Katana). Two Viper headshots usually strips a Barrier and can be done during the one slowdown without much trouble.

You can reallocate points before that, the bonus power (advanced training) retraining is after Horizon, iirc.

Think it could be the other way around; advanced training available any time (as long as you have at least one loyalty achievement), respecs after Horizon.

But surely you can't be so stuck as to warrant sitting through that damn half-hour opening cutscene and tutorial level again? Watching some vids might give clues on better positioning that lets you get past. Horizon offers a lot of opportunities for flanking and such.

Personally, I've found that although a good build is always a great advantage, playing as an infiltrator is easy in all cases if you can consistently have really good timing with the cloak.

Squadmate choice should be able to cover you if you don't like what you picked, until you can retrain.
