Unless you moderate a large forum, or run a widely read blog.  I'm sure there's already at least 20 to 30 people at  have used that to get 1000+ clicks a day.

I wish there was a cap, because it makes the twitter responses pointless, there's no way to keep up.

I'm trying to think of more and more creative ways to spam the living daylights out of my link, tho.

there is a cap

10 tokens per unique click (based on IP address) per day up to 500 tokens

that's 50 clicks

Well... you don't have to RUN a large forum to take advantage of it.

Moderating works just as well. >.>

<- over 1k clicks today

I clicked your link, though.

That's only a cap on clicks worth 10 tokens.  There's no cap on clicks worth 1 token.

Plus 1 token for every click after that 500 cap is reached.

After those 50 clicks, the clicks become 1 point each.  But some people (like a certain forum moderator above :pinched:)  Are getting 1450+ points from 1000 clicks a day, instead of the 500 points from 50 clicks a day like most of us schmucks.

I'm running out of forums to spam / be sneaky on :[

Popularity contest with sweet sweet prizes.

I'm going to go at it as hard as humanly possible, but I fear I'll still end up with only a mouse pad to show for it.

Well... think of it like this.  There's over 400 prizes... and there's almost certainly not over 400 people with the insane token counts.  So while the TOP prizes are going to be totally out of rich, there's still a lot of neat swag that you've got a great chance at getting- especially since auctions are only 15 minutes long.  Even the folks with lots of tokens that are going for smaller items can't be at their computer 24 hours a day; there's going to be lots of people simply not present for a lot of auctions.

I think someone was correct when they said that most of our tokens are coming from other bioware members clicking links or img tagged signatures :P

I have a pretty cool example of just what you're talking about just a couple of inches below this sentence, check it out.

Considering that biofeed currently has 20k followers. If only half of those people are trying to get points then it would be safe to say that atleast 1000 people have decently high click totals. Meaning that unless you have an outside source to bring in clicks your not gonna get any prize at all. Twitter wins or not. Period.

Oh and I DONT have an outside source SO.... help a brother out lol social.bioware.com/brc/1439266

The auctions only being 15 minutes long sure adds an interesting dynamic to the competition.

Yeah, but it doesn't take much to completely wreck the auction for most of us.  If even 20 people get together or can have access to enough clicks to just run up huge token totals.  That's enough for them to outbid anyone for 40 auctions, and there are not 40 premium prizes.  Just that few of people can take all the computers and xbox, and all the really cool stuff and leave us with the junk.

I've got all the posters, and books, and comics, and lithographs and hats, and stuff like that, and who gives a crap about getting a t shirt that you can buy for 20 bucks and isn't hard to get?

Hell they are giving out like 30 copies of the original Mass Effect, who on these boards doesn't own a copy of Mass Effect by now?

I think this no cap is going to destroy the auctions.

While the point of this auction is certainly to get people to click the referral link and possibly buy the game they're referred to, I will still have to declare this event fail if no one from the community wins anything.

You're presupposing they know when the auctions for the premium prizes are going to happen.  What if they don't put all the big items at the end, or all at the beginning? What if what item goes where is totally random?  You can't necessarily count on a big-token person even being awake, or at their keyboard, for all the premium ones.  It's LIKELY there'll be at least one, but it's not gaurenteed- there's a lot of really good stuff that's not necessarily 'premium'.  I don't know about you, but even being one of the large token holders at the moment, I'd be happy with nothing more than one of the lithographs.
