So this bazaar is just a popularity contest?

Its like high school all over again

Well... think of it like this.  There's over 400 prizes... and there's almost certainly not over 400 people with the insane token counts.  So while the TOP prizes are going to be totally out of rich, there's still a lot of neat swag that you've got a great chance at getting- especially since auctions are only 15 minutes long.  Even the folks with lots of tokens that are going for smaller items can't be at their computer 24 hours a day; there's going to be lots of people simply not present for a lot of auctions.

Except for the small complication of living in Florida.

That too.  Sorry. :(

You seem like a nice person. How about you try and win me a pair of  GUNNARS gaming glasses, or a M11x AlienWare Laptops if you have the extra tokens. ;)

That actually sounds like a good overall plan- if I do manage to win a premium prize, I'll try and get as many small prizes as I can with the remainder, and send those out free to the non-US board members!

Sounds good enough, but I think it will likely take all you've got to have a chance at winning a premium prize, unless you've got a very popular blog or something.

Ya, I'm kind of woried of the whole "popularity contest" part. I'm working my ass off on twitter part and still unsuccessful. Also, I've been trying to get as many referals as possible but have 1 twitter follower, only 70 or so facebook friends, and 25 friends on Xbox LIVE. I'm relying heavily on the BSN, X360A, and Xbox forums as well as my bio. I may just start sending messages to rescent players too. I'm up to 1079 total referal tokens. I maxed out my 50 yesterday and today, but I don't think I can generate enough single clicks to make a big enough leap for what I want.

I would love to be able to get either the Mass Effect Xbox 360 (I've always wanted one) or the ME Collector's Editions Artwork PC. I assume the latter will be impossible. It depends on what they look like (I hope they post pics) for what I go for. I fear though that people that generate a crap load of single token clicks will come out victorious. That and people lucky enough to get picked on most of the twitter challanges.

Honestly I'll be happy if I can get one of minor swag prizes.

That 360 faceplate would be cool for example.

Granted, I already have a pretty sweet gaming rig - not that one with ME2/DA art wouldn't be more awesome.

Wow...I was feeling bad for you until I saw how many tokens you have.  I only have about 320 from referrals, total.  :crying:

This is just a veiled attempt at referring the most people possible to a page where they can buy games. They could have structured this auction differently, but then they wouldn't get as many potential game sales.

That actually sounds like a good overall plan- if I do manage to win a premium prize, I'll try and get as many small prizes as I can with the remainder, and send those out free to the non-US board members!

In that case I'll make sure to throw all my support your way for a good cause. :innocent:

Well, I don't find it very veiled, what BioWare is doing is bloody brilliant. Getting everyone to spam everyone else on the internet to advertise their games, plus flooding twitter with #topics to show up as trends to get interest. Plus enough prizes, and good enough prizes to make everyone feel like it's worth the effort. I applaud them. Brilliant marketing strategy. I just wish I had more e-friends.

My definition of premium is a bit lower than most, I think- I'm willing to call it a day if I get a graphics card or a hard drive or something.

Sure, if I wasn't willing to play their game, I could just do something else. I'm willingly pushing their products. I just want to make sure that no one is under the impression that this contest is for the sake of community appreciation or any of that nonsense.

Even if you manage to get something good and still have a lot of tokens left, it won't matter, you won't be able to pick up but one more prize.  Not a bunch of small ones.  Don't care if it's a hat, that's it.  2 is the limit.  You can win 2 auctions then all remaining tokens are forfeit.  Dems the rules.

Guys, the prizes are being given out in chunks, so if you win a "prize", then it means that you have won a small collection of items.

There are 412 prizes, and 2189 items. The items must be grouped into prizes.

I know I am not going to win a computer or something, but given that so many people are reaping large inflows of tokens right now, even the smallest prizes will be taken.

You're presupposing they know when the auctions for the premium prizes are going to happen.  What if they don't put all the big items at the end, or all at the beginning? What if what item goes where is totally random?  You can't necessarily count on a big-token person even being awake, or at their keyboard, for all the premium ones.

This is what I'm hoping. :(

I seem to remember reading in the rules that people can only win 2 prizes.
