Mainly I go all grey, with pattern 1. Nothing flashy. I really wish they would release a package that added new armor patterns (Blue suns, Eclipse, Blood Pack, Cerberus etc.)

Would be so very, very sweet.

I constantly wanted their helmets too. Then again, Recon Hood is just as cool. I personally have a White armoured Shepard with Blue pattern 1on my Paragon game.

Canon male Shepard: black tint 1, pale yellow tint 2, pattern 1 - but I have the heavy damping gauntlets on him, so you don't see the stripe on his arm.

FemShep: tint 1 is that dark red tone with a similar red for pattern 1 and tint 2.

Renegade male Shep: Has very bright blonde hair, so I gave him a green tint 1 with yellow tint 2 and pattern 1 color to match. It works so well, I've decided to leave off the helmet despite the health penalty.

Holy cow, both of those look fantastic! :o  I'm totally stealing those for future playthroughs :bandit:

Normally I go for vivid pattern where its color contrasts the base layer.  White plating with red pattern (or vica verse), black plating with white pattern, etc, etc.  I do always make sure that each Shepard's armour is different from all the others.  And spacehamsterZH has just got my next two FemShep playthroughs covered B)

I use the light grey/silver one as a base with the dark yellow/gold as trim and as pattern n.2. Makes it look like it's silver armour with gold flecks in it, really sweet.

Currently I'm playing my third playthrough and have gone for an Infiltrator this time. I chose a fairly standard green-on-brown camo pattern, works for me.

If I'm playing a Vanguard, I go with:

Tint 1: Default Gray

Tint 2: Dark Green

Pattern:1 (*might* use 2 when I get the melee shoulders this time)

Pattern Colour: Dark Green

On a Soldier, I basically use the generic colours that Shepard starts the game wearing, maybe changing Tint 2 from gray to the darker shade of red. I like to model my Soldier shepard off of the guy on the box.

I assume all of you guys play on PC with the screenshots and such. I've searched everywhere and can't find any simple solutions to my Xbox screenshot conundrum! Is there any way to take a screenshot without having to pay a fortune in software / hardware / wires?

Another idea would be to have some sort of "color code" for each class. I had thought of using the three main colors (red, yellow, blue) for each of the "pure" classes (soldier, engineer, adept) and mix those colors (purple, orange, green) for the "hybrid" classes (vanguard, infiltrator, sentinel).

I would only use these colors on the stripes of the patterns, as they would get quite gaudy otherwise. And for the infiltrator, well, orange isn't very stealthy, so I'd have a sort of a "formal" orange-striped suit for non-combat areas like citadel Zakera ward, and its regular "battle suit" would change patterns depending on the environment his mission is in (I mentioned that in a previous post, and am currently applying it :D)

This is a good foundation for a colour scheme. Soldiers get Red, Adepts blue and Engineers yellow/orange. A hybrid gets a combination of two.

Unfortunately I can't really see my Vanguard Shepard having a purple stripe on his arm, so I always go with Green. But you definitely have the basis for a guideline.

I read about a decent Cerberus colour scheme on these forums. After replaying ME1 recently, I'm disgusted with Cerberus so I'll never show any sense of loyalty to them, but some people might like it. I'll admit, it looks cool.

Tint 1: Black
Tint 2: Yellow(darker shade)
Pattern: 2
Pattern Colour: White

Give it a shot. Sorry to whoever made this, I'm not taking credit I just I can't find the thread.

Hehe, I know... I'd generally see a vanguard in more intimidating colors myself. Maybe like the infiltrator the purple stripe variant would be an alternate appearance. Think I'll go on my Vanguard and see if I can find something

I was doing a similar thing myself actually - I had set colour schemes for each of my characters based on their class, but the only ones I could really be comfortable with and not want to change all the time were for my Engineer (green on orange w/white trim) and Adept (sky blue on purple w/white trim), aside from that, I was keeping myself up at night thinking of new colour schemes! So for my Vanguard I just picked what looked good and stuck with it.

Also, I agree with the intimidating colours for a Vanguard, I guess just think about what colours the word itself conjures up - for some reason Sentinel always makes me think of silvers, whites and golds, while Engineer makes me think green and yellow (hence my choice of colours) and Vanguard I'd associate with deeper, more 'menacing' colours (as you put it yourself!) so I went for deep green and crimson, with a light yellow trim. I don't know how menacing that appears, but it's certainly striking!

Darker colours definitely seem to fit the Vanguard better. Dark Reds, Blues, Greens and so on all give the Vanguard a more fearsome appearance. Personally, I use the default Dark Gray main tint and a Dark Green pattern/secondary tint. It looks awesome, and it maintains Shepard's military appearance. Vibrant main tints can look cool sometimes, but it doesn't seem realistic for a galaxy saving commando to go running around in power ranger red armor. This is a personal thing for me, I mean no offense to anyone who likes colourful armor.

It's stupid for obvious reasons, but it really irks me that I can't keep my red N7 stripe with a woodland camo pattern.

I'm on the 360 so I can't post a quality picture, sorry. Just try it out yourself: Melee shoulders (or normal shoulders), Default Gray main tint and the other two colours are dark green. It's pretty simple, but it looks really good. Looks very professional.

Haha ok, well then if someone here on PC would like to take a screenshot of it that would be great. If not, just try it out when you're near your 360 again.

Unless your colour blind you know what colours go together really well. As a result the vast majority of Sheps will have something very similar, regardless of how unique you think it is.

I normally use a camo pattern with various shades of blue.
