It should have all been by challenge. They should have asked really hard questions (timed, so people can't cheat) and whoever gets right wins. This URL crap is stupid- I understand the 500 normally, but people who **** themselves out are going to be getting all the stuff.
I do agree with this, bulldog. As it is, the twitter questions don't seem to have much of an impact. At least , not yet anyway. We'll see if that changes.
But as people said when I first posted this, the calculations are almost worthless when you consider people can just spam the crap out of forums and blogs for thousands of points a day. Is that *really* the best way to run a contest? Probably not.
Even one of the mods just said in another thread he's getting tired of all the spam threads just to get clicks. But what did they expect?
They give us a link and tell us that the more people click it, the more points we get, the better chance we have at getting a prize.
Of *course* people are going to spam the forums.
I also would have liked to see this directly related to knowledge, or at least some other skill. Not just "who can post the most links."
