I don't get why everything has to be some giant conspiracy to screw us over. Really if all they were really interested in was getting outside referrals to get people to their website you'd think they'd be shutting down the link exchanges instead of allowing a couple threads so we could do just that.

I mean why is it so hard to believe that a company might actually want to do something cool for its fans? They don't even really need to apologize to anyone for running their contest how they want, no less admit to having made mistakes in its presentation and apologize for it.

Careful Star, we who have the ability to forgive are now evil 'sheeple'!
And bloody proud of it /images/forum/emoticons/tongue.png

Are you really proud of being a sheep?
Or are you proud of being able to forgive?

Just curious.

I'm proud of being my own person, and the fact that no matter what you or Tom or Dick or Harry think..if I think someone deserves to be forgiven..I am going to forgive them

If that makes me a sheep..then so be it.   If it makes you happy to put such labels on others..then so be it.

BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You seem to misunderstand.
I am not judging your ability to forgive.
I was just interested if you were actually proud of being a sheep or proud of being able to forgive.
The latter I respect, to a degree, the former I do not, that's all.

In your eyes..that makes me a sheep...in my eyes..it does not...

Many thanks to the doctors, Chris, and the Biowarians involved. And many thanks to "those who used to be part of the community"; it's good to see their contribution has had an effect.
Oh, and congrats for the 15th birthday. I hope the good old Bioware will be around here for another 15 years at least. Image IPB

I think its a reference to the fact that we were not sure if anyone in Antartica was excluded.

OT: I gave up trying to keep up a few pages ago. What a spectacle. Sad to see the art that is a civil debate dying out.

On Topic: I'm glad to see we got a response.

Even if you're sceptical about the apology the end result is that the fans are/got taken seriously.

I did not say that being able to forgive makes you a sheep.

I said I respect being able to forgive, to a certain degree.

Probably better off not running the contest at all if it alienates a large proportion of your fanbase.

Sorry, too little too late. If you had posted this immediately, it might have been okay, but that it takes you over a day to do so is unforgivable.

They didn't have two years.  Pandemic had already screwed up that companies finances.

That is something we just can´t know. And i hardly belive that the fusion between Bioware and Pandemic was not profitable in a way. Otherwise it would be quit dumb. And EA closed them down anyway. I don´t think it was a big loss, but thats an individual opinion.

Besides that, Dragon Age was in production long, long before a publisher has been found.

Screw you Bioware, apology not accepted.

So what are you gonna do? Keep raging? What good will it do?

Even if you dont accept the apology they have promised to make it up to us, you may aswell just accept the apology until you see if you like how that works out or not. Not trying to tell you how to feel just trying to offer some persepective.

Unless your being sarcastic at which point feel free to point and laugh at me.

From my days playing World of Warcraft (EU servers), I still remember the amount of drama and legal b.s. there had been around every single event involving any kind of prizes etc - and this was on a game with a massive branch based in Europe, with their very own legal department. Certain countries' residents weren't eligible to participate in pretty much anything that involved 'real' prizes, there's been restrictions from others and so on.

Can't say this stuff with Bazaar is a big surprise to me - if anything, all the rage should go against stupid and poorly worded laws of countries & certain states, not the company.

edit: any kind of a contest involving referal links and real prizes is automatically illegal in a number of countries - my bets on whomever organized this simply not having that in mind when the whole thing was planned, and then it was too late to back out, as they'd have sponsors ready and so on.

Instead of trying to dissect someone's psyche, just attempt to accept them for who they are?

This is probably a redundant question, but why do you let Bioware of the hook for it so willingly?
