They excluded NY and FL because laws that govern these kinds of contests differ from state to state, and NY and FL probably has some weird law that gets in the way of how they want to run this particular contest.

No worries, I'm just trying my best to turn the tide of these ridiculous conspiriacy theories about Bioware lying to us for dark and evil reasons, so they can manuaver theirselves to better screw over their customers by having contests to give them free stuff.

... Because apparently thats what big evil coroperations do ... or something.

Dude, you can use the word fascist. It's a term describing a political system. It's not a curse word.
It may have been poor taste in some areas, but still I do not see the need to ban him.  A warning would have sufficed.

THe word itself is fine but instead of cherry picking it out, now put it in context or those sig bars it is used in and his avatar. Comparing a regim that murdered millions and was the cause of the horrors and deaths to a video game company is nothing but a pathetic attention grab and it is insulting to those that lost their lives and those related to those people.

Considering how many times i see communist imagery (which symbolizes a regime that murdered even more millions, mind you. Hell, they're even still allowed to rule quite a few countries), in gaming related communities, and no one lifts a finger, I see nothing so horribly wrong with it.
But it's the moderators' role to take a decision about it, and I reckon you, or the others up in arms about an avatar and a signature, aren't moderators.

Back on-topic, it's nice to see that Ray and Greg took their time to apologize (posting it personally would have been better, mind you, but can't have everything I guess) for this PR blunder.
Personally, though, I wish they would have done it for things more of importance, like the RtO debacle and such.
I still appreciate it this time around though, and I'll stand by and see what they cook for us.

why does fascism always end up in the same sentence as jews or holocaust? are all you jews always butthurt or angry over something that happened 70 years ago by a government that is long gone? does that justify crying about the smallest things?

its a political system, and it happens to work quite well until the leader goes apeshi.t with power, which leads to revolution or totalitarian dictatorship. Hell it got germany out of the depression faster than Democracy got america out.

I guess you think it makes sense that games based on historical settings that happen to be sold in germany need to have any depiction of the swastika censored (last case is Silent Hunter V, removed from the shelves because the developers happened to forget censoring a swastika from one u-boot in the collector's edition).
Some people are easily offended for sure. Yay for censoring history, 'cause forgetting is easier.

Agreed..I just think some folks need to get in tune with a little more sensitivity on these subjects.

I realize its "cool" and all to run around spouting these things...but the history is there..and lets recognize that it does bother some folks.

Fascism is part of history, the swastika is historical imagery. Getting "offended" over them being mentioned or shown is nothing else than an attempt to censor history.

But knowing you, it's very possible that you're actually more offended by him criticizing bioware

The retarded thing..is that it happens in the first place.   That "some" figure they can play God and wipe out whole populations of people that don't fit their imagery of "perfect".

I count myself lucky that I didn't live in those days, and didn't have to feel the persecution they did.

I have empathy and sadness for the ones that did.   

I think that people who need to flaunt these images etc in..game board sigs or elsewhere...are some sort of inconsiderate...and selfish to boot.   Its a form of disrespect...for those that died.
