Point and case regarding using humor as a dealing-mechanism.

And escape tool in this case.

Anyways, back to the issue at hand perhaps?

I think not.
The guy you burned at the stake, so to speak, did post a pretty good piece. Perhaps a comment on the real issues?
Though I doubt any of you really will.

This is amazing. Mindboggling, even.

I am sure that no-one missed
the recent debacle that was the big countdown timer and the Bioware
Bazaar. Where Bioware basicly hyped something to kingdom come, creating a
so-called "Epic Community Event". That, when revealed, excluded the
vast majority of the community in favour of what is widely referred to
as the underbelly of civilization, the United States of Amerika. Even
the homeland of the original Bioware, Canada, was excluded from the
15th-year anniversary fanfare.

Needless to say, people were't
pleased. They were then continously ignored and, at times, silenced. I
honestly don't expect this log to stick around too long before they
decide to do some 21st century book burning.

That said, the
realization that the original Bioware is dead and gone wasn't entirely
easy, but is now impossible to get away from. Sub-par DLC, a shocking
amount of bugs (some gamebreaking even 5 months after release),
arrogance, and a complete lack of product support  have all become
standard in the new Bioware.

It felt like a wind of fresh air,
when it seemed that people were slowly realizing this, as I had,
following my attempts to resolve a recent issue, which happened to
coincide with this "no u"-event on Bioware's part. People demanded an
apology, and rightfully so. They were outraged.

But what really
grinds my gears isn't, in the end, even this. It's that it seems that
the vast majority of the forum are completely pants-on-head retarded. An
apology did come. It blamed the whole thing on "last minute legal
issues", which I and others had joked about even as this thing started,
because it's a traditional cop-out. A "get out of jail free"-card that
multinational corporations pull whenever the issue of inclusiveness come
up.

But the fact that lies run rampants in the upper echolons of
Bioware and EA doesn't come as any great surprise. What's worse is that
people are actually going "Well, at
least we got an apology" and accepts
this flagrant display of insincerity.

Here's a hot tip for the
lot of you: Just because someone says "I sincerely..." doesn't mean that
they are sincere. A incinsere person have no problem at all feigning
sincerity.

Consider this. Last minute legal issues. Let's say
that the apologies as sincere. By that virtue, the statement that the
problems were due to legal issues must also be true. For that to be
true, we must also accept that:

Bioware had no knowledge of these possible legal
issues, despite these legal issues being well-known throughout an
industry to which they have been a part of for 15 years. There are many
corporations that hold many contests that are exclusive to certain
regions, exactly due to legal issues. They are unwilling or unable to
spend the resources necessary to make an event or contest inclusive.

Electronic Arts, a multinational corporate giant
with vast resources and a legal department the size of Pluto was also
unaware of the fact that different regions had different laws.

These legal issues were so prevalent so that they
affected every single nation on this planet, except 48 states in the
USA.

These legal issues cropped up
when there were less than 6 days left on an event that has taken, at the
very least, several months to plan.

[/list]Starting to sound
far-fetched? That's because it is. The organizers are either Spongebob
Squarepants and Patrick Star, or - more likely since starfishes and
sponges have a limited capability to organize real-world and web events -
lying. Or just all-out malicious, but I prefer to think that there's
still good in the world.

So how are these "apologies" in any way
acceptable, if the very foundation for them; the explanation that this
was all due to legal issues, are insincere?

Anyone that believes
the explanation givens is an idiot, and anyone that accepts the apology
is a moron. Anyone that does both is pants-on-head-retarded.

What
a load of bull.

Thank you for taking the time to right that.  I agree with almost all of it except,

don't like this part "underbelly of civilization, the United States of Amerika. "  Miss spell the country's name and call it the underbelly how cute.

What country are you from?

If your from the United States of America your part of the so called "trash aka underbelly" as I dont see this.

If your from another country it is most likely at some time USA has saved your sorry butt or kept you out a war.

Just some countrys to post incase your from one.

Britian-Spain-Germany kept out of war in past, see Morocco for insistence.

Only reason we for certain joined the Allies for certain was because of the massive debt they owed our manufators for giving them weapons in WWI.

France- who hasn't saved them?

Any South American country- debt out the ass we kept from get invading.

Japan- We introduced Industrialism.  The only reason they reached what they have become.

Russia- See Ruso-Japanese War.  When Russia was fighting with muskets against machine gun fire.  Roosevelt calmed that one down.

If you consider the Underbelly "a vulnerable or weak part" you might want to check your dictionary again.
