While it sounds a bit... weird... sometimes Lawyers and especially bureaucracy could be a hell of a companion... and suddenly pull the thing 180° around because they "surprisingly" found another paper stating something completely different...

All the idiots who are saying we should of waited for the news rather than have posted our discust in the announcement thread are morons.

I seriously doubt this announcement was being planned prior to those not in community showing their anger and discust. This is obviously a quick response to the situation which is why we've heard no response from BioWare up until now.

Basically what I'm saying is voicing your oinion works and you should practice this right. If you're a customer of  company you should be treated with respect and not act like a mindless brown-nosing stooge, as some of the people posting here are implyling you should act. If you are unhappy with how a company is acting in certain respects then you should voice your distress and not just stay quiet as a parent would want a child to be, because we're BioWare's costumes not friends or employees.

How on Earth during the planning stages of this global, until the last minute, event did no-one think to check what would be necessary to hold it outside of the USA?

Well this is understandable i think and this post was really good and thanks for it.

The people was really disappointed not knowing what happened and why so their reaction was understandable also to be honest. Really a post like this some minute before the countdown could prevent the whole thing.

Have to agree,  I think a few of us were expecting something game related.  Not necessarily DA or ME2 but perhaps a new announced game in the works.

Edit: PS, read the rules of the contests you enter people, 99% of the time Florida and NY are excluded.

People were mad b/c there was a big countdown for it, regardless of whether or not you were eligible and it was penned as an "Epic Community Event". Then they found out that only US residents need apply.

They could have done things better, like making sure that it was clear that this was just part 1 of the celebration and such earlier, but a response the next day on the issue and clarifying that more would be coming is still good.

An acknowledgement that things did not occur as planned is fine. Though perhaps a faster response would have been much better even if it was lacking in details and said we'll explain more in a couple of days.

Why is it no matter how many times I see it I am still amazed at how quickly common sense is thrown out the window when in a mob?
