I've only ever been banned from one forum in my approximately fifteen years on the web. It wasn't for spamming though. I was exchanging ideas about the storyline of the King of Fighters series. Yes, I realize fighting games have virtually no storyline, but back then I spent ludicrous amounts of time on them. Anyway, apparently that annoyed a moderator enough to boot me. My posts were too off topic for the forum. I didn't even bother to contest it. (It wasn't a great community to begin with. I went there as a time killer.)

That made me laugh. 

About the topic: It isn't a bad thing to get banned from boards to don't go to, gives the mods of whatever site something to do. Probably helps them seem worth while to that sites admins :innocent: We're doing a good deed.

I could spam websites and whatnot, but that's just not what kind of person I am. I may consider it later though. Maybe make a dummy account or something. But...man...I always feel so bad =(

Are you really shocked?   The contest begs people to spam the internet with this crap.

Personally I have handed out 42 temporary bans over 3 sites.  You would think people would get the message.

People must be very desperate... But you have to hand it to BioWare for generating a viral marketing campaign of this size. Any negative publicity that may come out of this might be good publicity for EA/BioWare...

Despite the old saying, not all publicity is good publicity.   Being known for being bigger idiots than the 4chan crowd is probably not a good thing.

I haven't seen too much negative reaction yet over this yet - most people on the Internet are barely even aware. But, on most gaming sites, people are expressing a degree of exasperation over the torrent of spam they have seen.

People will always be desperate for free stuff. I personally don't think I will end up winning anything, but it is always good to hope...

XX55XX, always have hope! There are truly plenty of prizes to go around... and the 2-per-user cap does help against those with crazy token amounts. 402 prizes, as they say. So 201 winners possible, but probably more. People will spam all their tokens on the *one* item they want really badly.

Gamespot keeps warning me and pulling my posts but no ban yet. stupid since I'm posting my link and asking people to click, no trickery involved. They call it advertising and spam.

Banning someone from a game should be only because you either cheat/exploit or hating word INSIDE THE GAME! NOT ON A FORUM!
