I was wondering if I need to make a new game to be able to import another carrer for ME2.  What i mean is do i have to get start a carrer, finish the game, and make another carrer to be able to play both saves in ME2?  im trying to get all endings without having to play the game and get finish side quests and get all minerals to get the best possible start in ME2.  it would be a pain if i had toPosted Image

thanks in advance!Posted Image

You seem to be twisting your words a bit, but if you're asking if you can import an ME1 character twice in order to make two ME2 characters (or more)... yes.

sorry, i dont know how to explain things like that (but that was also something i needed to know)

lets see... ill just say what im doing right now. i made a character. then i saved before the end to make decisions that effect ME2 (council and stuff). after i beat the game, i could import that character to make a new game (on ME1, didnt get ME2 yet). but then i loaded my saave, beat the game with the other decision, and looked at my completed games, and there was only one that i finished (plus the other that arent the same character). does that mean i have to play the game again on a new save just to have the other decisions?

i know that still might be complicated and nobody ever did this, but thats what im trying to do because im trying to get the biggest head start possible (collect all minerals and side quests on level 60... that kinda takes a while)

i really dont want to do the game over and over again just to get the different endings... but i know i willl anyway...

minerals will not transfer over--you get import bonuses for getting a character to level 60 and have a Rich character-- by that I mean actually unlocking the "Rich" Achievement.

how much "richer" will i be (about)? i mean, i have 10 gasses, and about 30-35 for the other ones... plus i have all of the other acheivements except for four ability acheivements... how mcuh is that?

that wasnt the question either, but still useful! anyway, i think i have to make another character, so thats what im goin to do. (but i think i can still cheat the system, just need to get ME2. my only real big difference will probably be the LI and ending... thats pretty ,much it. its kinda a lot of work just for that. maybe ill kill different people though)

yay! thanks to the grey ranger, i found out that i dont really want the other ending that bad. so yeah, problem solved. the only thing im thinking about is to have liara be the LI instead of Ashley because i now actually really like liara when i gave her a chance (but as a character and as a squadmate... awesoome dancce moves too). still kinda wierd she isnt human (then again, it is Mass Effect)... plus the fact shes the equivelant of like 19 or 20 (she said she is barely considered an adult, so that i think that is a little younger than she is) in human years

so just wanted to say thanks!

JLBoyyy, ME1 makes a special save for importing into ME2 (or for a new game+) after you defeat the final enemy. This happens every time you defeat the final enemy, so no new career is necessary if you want two import saves with only a different outcome for the Council, you only need to reload a savegame from near the end and beat the final enemy again. By the way, the saves for importing into ME2 don't show up among the regular savegames.

Minerals, gasses, credits and equipment gathered in ME1 have no effect on what you get in ME2.
The import bonuses are as follows:
paragon/renegade points, amount depends on how many points you got in ME1, a full bar in ME1 gives 190 points
Rich achievement gives 100000 credits, stacks with credits from exp level
20000 credits, 2500 of every resource and starting level 2 if importing a level 01-49 Shepard
30000 credits, 5000 of every resource and starting level 3 if importing a level 50-59 Shepard
50000 credits, 10000 of every resource and starting level 5 if importing a level 60 Shepard

wow, you actually understood me... interesting

and since i know that for sure, i dont think ill completely abuse the game by doing every single thing anymore... (even side missions that dont count)

man, when i start ME2 with my import bonuses, im gonna be loaded... awesome

thank you for actually answering my question, i thoought nobody ever wold because they never did it or have no idea what im talking about

How does New Game+ work in ME1 anyway? What carries over? I really don't want to drive around planets again.

Your decisions, your level (for starting bonuses -- the level itself doesn't carry), your paragon/renegade scores and the rich achievement.
