It would make sense that there would be some animosity from the female species of other races as it seems that every single malien's wife or girlfriend  is asari! I know it was just bioware running out of time to make female models but it is funny how no dude wants to be with someone from his own species or any other species apart from the asari. The only one I can think of was that turian and quarian in the bar, and that's it. I would like to see more combinations of couples as well as couples of the same species just to see what typical relationships of each race are like. Also it would be nice to actually SEE some female aliens that aren't quarian or asari.  Give the other ladies a chance bioware, the blue gals are stealing all the men!

It's a pretty good question, considering that most species seem to see something of their own kind in Asari (taking into account the three guys in the bar in Ilium), and the rumours about how Asari mating functions already gives them something of a reputation in certain circles. The fact that most of them seem to be table dancers too probably wouldn't help.

I have a sneaking suspicion that the fact that we're not seeing turian/krogan/salarian women has more to do with Bioware not understanding how to create a female alien without just slimming up the male model and tossing boobs on it. And if it doesn't have boobs on it, dudes won't think they're hot! And if dudes don't think they're hot, nobody will buy the Mass Effect games!



How the hell could they have run out of time and money in BOTH games?

I find the part where a woman scratches my back by accident somewhat less of a turn on, and more like down right torture with a damn turian. look a those fingers...are those fingers????

Well, there are a LOT of little touches in ME2 that have no plot or character relevance and exist only to further illustrate the world. Drinking in places, for example. That turian barkeep on the Citadel has a unique drink-mixing animation that appears nowhere else. Matriarch Athetya needs two sets of face textures for the before-and-after 'beer goggles' joke. You can stop and overhear a dozen little conversations that do nothing but add depth to various alien races.

Hell, even background NPCs have unique poses; you see a few other NPC couples standing like this, but it's not something you ever see close-up in a cutscene, or that Shepard ever does.

With them spending time and money on all these little touches to make aliens more realistic and relatable, it's bizarre that an entire gender is completely left out.

They wrote some lore to cover their asses on krogans and salarians, but there's no reason for turian women not to be in ME2.
