Concerns regarding the actual Auction

Hi guys, I just have a few questions about the actual auction time.

Let's say that when the auction starts, I have 1000 tokens.  Let's say that I bid 1000 on the first item for auction.  Let's say that someone else then bid 2000 tokens.

Once that auction is completed, do I get my 1000 tokens back to bid on something else?  Or do I lose those tokens forever?

Also, will we be given a schedule of what items are auctioned when, or will we be in the dark until the actual time, like a wootoff?

Thanks in advance,
Baskie

Most likely you get the points back if you lose, otherwise everyone would wait until the higher priced items and go all in. Regarding the schedule I am assuming something will be placed closer to the date, but keep your eyes and ears open.

Like with real auctions, points are not deducted until you make a winning bid.

Well, they're not unheard of for an auction type to make everyone pay even if they didn't win (see http://en.wikipedia....All-pay_auction), but I didn't realize how uncommon they were until I looked it up just now. :D

It would be good to know what they plan for scheduling and order. They could work some very intricate strategies into it. For example, if they decide to auction all of the large cost items first, then it will essentially be whoever has the most tokens wins at everything, even the little stuff.

But if they leave the big stuff until last, then it makes the auctions for the little stuff much more interesting (and also potentially more available to people who don't have a crazy popular blog).

The Rules/FAQ actually state that you will only have tokens deducted if you win. no worries.

I have never heard of those myself.

If they leave the big items for last (mainly the computers) people will be in no rush to spend their points on lesser stuff, especially with the buy limit (2?). They'll give out more prizes if people are always bidding for the "most valuable" one(s).

I don't expect to have the most tokens by far. I'm not bidding on a single thing until the big stuff is gone.

They will probably have several big and little items everyday to spread out the bidding.

I really hope there is no schedule and it's more like a woot off.

Yeah, I'm not to sure if there'll on 15 minutes per item or if a new item is listed every 15 minutes and you have 24 hours to bid on it. I'm sure there'll be one computer per day, though.
