How hard would it be to program in 2 or 3 hair choices? Idle wondering...

For the Male default Shepard it would be difficult. Unlike a custom Shepard or the default female Shepard the default "iconic" male Shepard that Bioware uses in all their ads and boxart isn't made using the character creator he's actually based off a scan of a real dude's head. The guy's name is Mark Vanderloo.

You all realize that the ME/ME2 engine completely fails at hair, right? The unreal series of engines always have, they were never designed to accomodate a RPG.
This is true; but there are hairstyles that aren't in the game that it could render. Completely bald for example.

Actually, that's pretty nonsensical as of the second game; they kept the scar Vanderloo has on his head. Shepard is rebuilt to have no scars/shiny new roboscars.implodinggoat wrote...

I almost couldn't have too many appearance options and so would definitely like to have more than hairstyles - accessories would be cool as well. Everything from hair slides, sweat bands, glasses, hell, even a flower

Hah! Indeed. I can already imagine a shameless stereotype gaybarber in ME2 complaining about my Sheps current hairstyle. Offensive perhaps, but its still a funny thought.
