ok I understand shepards is milatary but it's no reason for have no choice to have hair longs or shors hairs

I agree that long hairs are looking nice. That's not my point.
It's just that having long hairs during a fight can have baaaad unhealthy consequences.
For example : What if a Krogan grab your pretty hairs during a fight ?

I favor military haircuts for ME, just because it feels more realistic, and that's the way how i like my game. You can have your way too , i don't have any problem with that anyway.

A more prozaic reason is realistic looking long hair that reacts convincingly in games without being a stupidly large CPU sink is very difficult to do and even worse to do with realistic looking hair. Personally, I'm with you; short hair's harder to grab.

I think the only true long hair that I have encountered with player characters in a Bioware game is in Jade Empire with Wu the Lotus Blossom (though perhaps the hairstyle in Loki330's avatar could count as well).

I support this, more choices would be great; like long hair.
I've read so far that some think that it is unrealistic to have anything other then military haircuts.
I'll have to disagree,....... Two-year hair growth while team lazerus was more concerned with bringing Shepard back to life ? Also, Shepard isn't part of the military any more, I remember C-sec person calling Shepard a civilian and Shep's only come back was that He / She was an ex-Spectre.

But regardless you can play it out however you like...it is your right to do so, to create your Shepard how you want.
My Shep's need the long hair

Volus barber?

"So what style (huff) can I give you (huff) today Earthclan Shepard?"

Yes please! And you should be able talk some silly gossip with him/her too.
Shepard needs beards and long hair options. A bit too military as it is now.

Signed.

I mean, why should anyone oppose more hair options? It's not like BW would force you to give your Shepard hair you dislike (in fact, it's what they are doing to us right now, because I'd love to have a long-haired MaleShep). Why oppose more freedom of choice?

I wrote a similar topic a while ago and people bashed me with ridiculous excuses like "A military man is a military man all his life" (In what way being a military man prevents one from liking fancy hairstyles?) or even "It's not practical because people could grab the hair in tight quarters" (Sure, because ME is fought exclusively in close quarters, Shepard is a boxeur) and other assorted tomfoolery.

^^^^True. And also The Rule of Cool* are especialy strong in games

*Rule of Cool: If it looks cool enough it doesn't have to be realistic.

Signed! They could do a hair and new casual outfit pack... and have some sort of hair stylist somewhere so you could switch things up. As a female Shepard I was sorely disappointed with the lack of hair styles... I know its based on a sort of "military look" but they're are a lot of chic, low maintenance hairstyles that wouldn't make it look like I stepped out of the 1920's... I know from personal experience unreal engine is abysmal at rendering hair (the lighting system used makes it impossible to light intermediate transparencies) so its never going to look "natural" but that doesn't mean there couldn't be more attractive options.

If they do any modifications to the Unreal Engine then this is certainly viable.

I don't mind if they don't make it a DLC, as long as there's better hair in ME3.

If anything, I'm hoping that they add more hairstyles, as well as the ability to change it throughout your game in Mass Effect 3. Maybe Jack could be the Normandy's barber/hairstylist, where people can go down to her hidey-hole to get a quick haircut (sort of like a makeshift salon).
