@ Satirewire :  The following is to catch you up, since you seem to be unable to read the last couple pages and read what people might actually be talking about.

I wanna throw one more little wrench into this: Anyone who posted their URL on Facebook unwittingly performed the img trick.

Facebook would attach the link and actually reach through it an pull the pictures from the Dragon Age or Mass Effect site that got redirected. But, for everyone friend of the user who logged into Facebook and had that link pop up on their feed, a referral click was automatically added.

Now this is more in the spirit of the competition, as the friends also saw the advertisement. But, if someone got a lot of referral clicks via Facebook performing the img trick for them, should they have their tokens reset, too?

I for one, used the FaceBook and Myspace tools that BioWare created to post a link on my profile for those two social networking websites.  So since the "image tag" is considered a cheat I will be exceedingly angry if my point total gets reset to zero because "I followed the rules", even as they are current redefined.

Since, Chris seems to be working today I think it is entirely justifiable to get some kind of answer on this.  Even if it is a "We haven't thought of this and we will get back to you on Monday."  The fact that Chris has enough time to navigate the forums and read the O.P. enough to lock it down but still give no answer?  is an insult.

So now you come in and quote ancient history to us is beyond frustrating.  Then you nitpick internet grammar with someone for flaming your obvious boneheaded move.  What I will find ironic is if your point total gets zeroed out because you posted your link on FaceBook and Myspace too.

Jax Sparrow, nice.

It would be ironic wouldn't it?  That is if their link hasn't already been posted, with or without thier permission mind you.  (Another clarification needed, how that effects users) or is it affect?

Oh well!

Do you guys like my hearts?

Wow, look at all of the posts! This would be a great thread to have a picture that cheats others into clicking my link!

You don't understand...

It's unique referrals, this thread is like 20 people.

You know what I don't understand? Google.

Also, point being - doesn't matter if you post or not - if you just navigate to a thread/post, you click...even if my joke sucked, it still worked.

A user with the addon navigating to any of the multiple link exchange threads will yield many more referrals than this thread filled with image links.

Been busy a lot, checking back to see if Chris decided to clearly this large chunk of the community that is still advertising for him, by answering some very important questions they have about a sudden announcement of policy/disqualification that is widely seen as unfair.

Glad to see we're still being ignored.

And here I thought it was clear that my post was directed at those people who are repeatedly complaining that they haven't gotten an answer to if just tokens gained by cheating would be taken away or all of them.  If I were refering to the concern with the social networking sites than I would have stated so.  Obviously I should have listed the names of the people my post was aimed towards, though that hardly seemed nessesary given how many people are still bickering over it.

Regarding FaceBook and MySpace, ironic as you might have found it, it won't happen.  I don't use either of those sites, never have, never will.  I also highly doubt that BioWare doesn't have the full ability to see where all these "clicks" are being triggered from.

Erm. I recently cleared a number of images from my image shack account and accidently nabbed the sig bar I'd made. My apologizes.

I'd suggest the question has been answered. You just don't like the answer you've gotten.

I did something questionable, and I didn't like what happened either. But you don't see me complaining as much as some of the others. I accept BioWare's position on the matter.

There are those of us who are willing to fall on our swords honorably.

He answered a question.  He has not answered the multitude of valid questions that his response generated.  I'm in no way arguing the fact that, as of his post, that type of linking is considered cheating.  Infact, I thought it should have been considered cheating from the beginning, and prevented from happening (like it is now) days ago.

The real questions stem from the days of silence where this type of behavior was assumed okay, due to lack of a stance on it, after the question was begged, then non answered for days.

Aye. If this question had been cleared up immediately, we woud have known that this method was not a valid way of getting an advantage and the issue could have been averted. The way it was handled was not at all clear, so it became a situation where if you wanted to stay competitive, you had to do it and there was no indication that this sort of action would be taken. Things could've easily gone the other way and it would have been the people on the other side of the coin that would feel slighted because they couldn't win anything.

I love how many people in this thread have to resort to personal insults to compensate for their lack of intelligence and/or ability to make a reasonable argument. I'm sure it is really making the folks at Bioware stand up and take notice! Keep up the good work!

This, my friends, is what we call irony.
