That is completely uncalled for.

I'm so not clicking your link now. Have a little respect, insulting someone does not help your cause.

I never knew that such a sweepstakes would automatically generate so much controversy...

I thought the huge controversy immediately after it started would be a good indication.

It seems its been nothing but one gigantic communications cluster!@#$.
Any of the problems that have occured so far could have been easily stemmed through effective communication, namely letting us know the things we need to know up front, instead of after it too late. Same thing here as with the countdown.

If they had annouced that the Bioware Bazaar was the first of many, this one for the US, with other similar events for other regions coming up - the first wave of outrage would never have happened. Same exact problem here, they waited days to give us a real answer when the question needed an answer in hours, hell we should have never even had to ask.

I love how many people in this thread have to resort to personal insults to compensate for their lack of intelligence and/or ability to make a reasonable argument. I'm sure it is really making the folks at Bioware stand up and take notice! Keep up the good work!

I also love how many kettles feel the need to tell pots that they're black;  And, vice versa.

You know what's kind of sad? If OP hadn't shared this with everyone else, he would have had a ton of tokens (more than probably anyone else) and BioWare staff probably wouldn't have known. So because he tried to be nice and share it, he ended up screwed.

This was pretty much handled in the worst way possible. I would have almost have preferred no statement before Chris came and said people using this would be DQ'd. Stanley's lack of clarity on the issue made it seem like so long as wasn't being abused by spamming a bunch of threads so a lot of people would end up viewing (and thus clicking) your link that it would be tolerated, which is a big reason why I started using this method in the first place. Of course, Chris acting like a responsible community organizer (seriously, dealing with the communty is your job, what are you doing for most of the day?) would have been ideal.

Lol Jax...coming from you...thats very funny....thanks....needed cheering up.

@fish, you can all flame me if you like (though noticed All Dead prefers to have a go at women instead)...Ive been campaigning to get rid of the links since the day they appeared, in numerous threads....

So probably all my fault for bringing it to the attention of the devs :P (not that I give a toss you understand, just saying)

People have known about this exploit for quite a time before everyone started using it.

The problem here is that we were actually behaving like a community, we weren't trying to hide it like some big secret so that only the elite few got in on it, hell earlier in the thread I was doing my best to convince people it was a good idea, and that it would be better for the contest if everyone did it, I actually thought I was doing people a favor.

That's not a bad thing, that's why I was saying it sucks.

Oh, I didn't know. I didn't even know about the exploit until it was already said to be cheating.

How about next time having real events and ones that are just veiled ways to use us for advertising be separate? Before all of this nonsense, I would have helped out even if all the participants just got a cool sticker, because I liked BW. Then you could focus the real events on actually making something that would be fun for the community.

I'd be on that like [insert a rather tasteless comment about asian prostitutes here].

Seriously though, I don't know if my fandom for BioWare can last in this place. Between all this crap with the Bazaar and the constant stream of whining about every little thing that someone might not like about a given game, I'm really questioning how worthwhile a community this is.

Why should I? For that matter, isn't this exactly what the IMG-Tag would have help prevent - mindless spaming and farming of links?

They've already lost my fandom and my download for their April Fool's Dragon Age DLC. I might buy another Bioware product, but only if it seems like a good deal and the reviews are good, and maybe when it comes down in price. No more "OMG Bioware" purchases.
