You mean people have started clicking those again mine hadn't moved in forever.

And more on topic we'll probably have an answer to this issue on Monday.

Yeah, I've been getting a click once every hour or so it seems. Barely moving at all, enthusiam for clicking has died down quite a bit. That was bound to happen though.

Anyways, hopefully we'll have an answer Monday, though when? Who's to say, it sounds like Chris needs to meet with the comittee to plan the meeting to determine how to deal with this.

Ahhh ... Bureaucracy.

Well I hear you on the one click per hour although for me it's like one click every two to four hours. I've been going through clicking everyones today only to find out that hardly anyone clicked mine but like you said it was bound to happen eventually.

In the past week, my opinion of and enthusiasm for Bioware has gone from great to extatic to frustrated to disgusted, and has now reached apathetic.

Good. Good. Now you just need to deny it, bargain about it, and accept it ^_^

Apathy can be roughly equated to acceptance, methinks.

Is this what passes for flaming now-a-days? I remember when trolls would take the time to learn that I liked girls and call me a ****.

Anyways, I think larger women can be very attractive:

You really need to start operating with a higher class of trolls.

If I were attempting to flame you, I'd go for the much classier "You're the original Gollum!"

All trolls should have at least a basic knowledge of classical literature. I believe this with my whole heart :P

@Maria Yeah, but that one's been photoshop'd. Her ribs are too small for her shoulders, he tummy's been slimmed down a bit (as you'd prolly see a little roll because her back is arched), and her hips have been slimmed down a LOT. It looks like at the point riiiight below her boobs is where they started cloning out the extras, because her arms look normal.

<----Can't help pointing out retouching, Photoshop Guru.

Yeah, I think if anything if they had made it so that day people's points went away then at least you could sorta recover--you'd have the weekend to get more clicks and stuff. What really sucks is that even if you took the images down the day they made the ruling, all the legitimate clicks you've gotten since then don't count.

But I agree--not Bioware, Game Developer's fault, more like Mr. Marketing dude. But even then, "fault" is a strong word, it just would've been nicer to have some clarity earlier. And I don't know, I've read most of this thread and I think so far its been fairly civil. But I definitely wouldn't want to be a mod here--no way would I like to wade through 40 pages of discussions to find rule breakers x.x

From the wiki article:

initially befriending him, Caliban attempted to sexually assault Miranda.

Sounds about right.

And the roses and face added afterwards. That's not even necessarily the woman's real body.

Look at the lighting on her face.

Lol, I know this isn't going to happen. But what if they just said everyone who used the image trick is going to be stripped of their tokens on the day before the weekend, that way everyone who used the image trick isn't throwing around their links getting higher counts. Then on Monday they reveal that people who used the image trick aren't going to be stripped of tokens, they just said that so that other people could catch up. I know, it's hard to catch up with the people with like, 12,000 tokens, but still, it makes sense. Ah, the joys of speculation.

If you do the math, they expected the average person who got 50 clicks a day to have 10450 tokens by the start of the auction and 12450 by the last day of the auction.

  500 - Dragon Age:Origins - Character Creator Upload
1000 - Social signup
1200 - Mass Effect 2 Game Registration or Questionnaire
1200 - Dragon Age:Origins Game Registration or Questionnaire
1750 - Dragon Age:Origins Awakening Game Registration or Questionnaire

5650 - Available Free tokens

500 - 1 day of 50 clicks @ 10 clicks each

There are 9 days from start to first auction (500x9=4500) and 13 days (500x13=6500) to the end.

The most extreme case they probably imagined was people getting a few hundred single clicks after the first 50. So, let's say the average extreme contestant got 300 clicks total for 750 tokens (300-50+(50*10)). These people would have 12700 by start of auctions and 15700 by the end.

So, I commend you for your wishfull thinking, but I'm pretty sure they're going to disqualify everyone over 13,000 tokens.

Edit note: I'm a horrible speller. Oh, and I threw in links to the questionnaires for the lazy.

Still doesn't fix the issue that they are letting people prosper from what they have deemed an exploit (although much too late).  Since they said they are going to post a winner's list, you could see the outrage this could cause if a known list of people using the img trick won all the good stuff.  The only win-win is if they just took away the specific  "ineligible points".  This is unlikely though, so someone's going to end up angry on Tuesday.  All indications point to img people getting the shaft.

Honestly, I think what they should do is allow anyone who stopped using the exploit in a certain timeframe to keep their tokens, then give everyone who didn't use it a chunk of bonus tokens to bring them up to speed with the people who did. Don't know if thats feasible or not, given that the upper end of what was earned through the exploit may be widely different than the lower end, therefore a good average to give the non-cheaters may be hard to determine.

It would be a good way to solve the problem without pissing anyone off though. No one loses anything, those who didn't cheat get free tokens. Everyone's happy. After that I'd have to say taking away only the "ill-gotten" tokens would be the best choice, but again, no clue if thats feasible. Third best would be to give everyone who used it a token penalty based on how far ahead they got with the trick to bring them back in line with those who didn't. All of those would be very fair in my mind, and I'm sure there's other options as well.

So there are ways to fix it. It just depends on what they can feasibily do.

The whole situation is FUBAR. But idk, they said they are tracking everybody who uses the img tag trick. If they can do that, I think they can manage implementing a lot of the penalty/bonus suggestions raised here.

AAHHH I'm at 12,881 tokens!! EEK, Everyone STOP clicking my link!!!  :pinched:

But, yeah, there's going to be a cut off, and everyone above that will either be looked to see how they got so many, or they'll just be DQ'd (if Chris is feeling evil).

I did like you're math, but I think they may lean a little higher.  Especially considering that before the link redirected, Facebook automatically did the img exploit for you.

I mentioned it a handful of pages back.  When you put your link as a status update in Facebook, FB follows the link (all the way through to the adds, actually) and puts up pictures and text from the link below your status.  If you posted that, when any of your friends checked their feeds, FB whould show your status including the contents of the link and you'd get a click.

This has been changed. Now that the link leads to a redirect page, Facebook just shows your link (you might still get a click from it, i'm not sure).

I'm sure people posted on the Facebook accounts and didn't think it was cheating or using an img exploit, especial because BioWare provides a button right below your link ot post it on Facebook.  So BioWare definetly can't dock anyone for that.  But it also wasn't really against the "spirit" of the links, because Facebook not only showed your link, but followed it all the way to the add for the BioWare game and then posted images and text for it.  So BW's advertising was still happening, even if the viewer wasn't clicking through.

Now, it's been mentioned that BioWare can see what webiste your clicks came from.  So, it's likely that if someone does have a ton of tokens BioWare probably won't count any tokens that came from Facebook as cheating.  I'll probably be tough for them to tell if tokens from this board are cheating, too (unless your totals are absurd) because of the link exchanges and everyone knowing about the links and clicking them as tips.

But you didn't mention the quiz tokens in your math. Or did they not award any of the winners yet? I've seen a lot of threads about missing quiz tokens.

Ah. Thank you for the explaination.

I think something with the first redirect system wasn't tracking unique clicks either when people were using the IMG tag or the Facebook status like you mention. So, you could have the same people causing your tokens to go up each time they viewed either. This made things far worse than they should have been.

Anyway, the new system is definitely tracking IPs now, hence why so many people are complaining about how slow their tokens are going up.

I haven't heard of anyone winning more than one yet and I doubt anyone will win more than three. If anyone does win more than three, I want to know their responses otherwise I'm calling shenanigans.
