Your point about concept 4 in the cheating section doesn't make sense consider that is EA's policy regarding their GAMES. not this competition, this is not a GAME.

and according to this policy, the amendment cannot be retroactive.

This a direct quote from the CONTEST RULES, the "game" they are referring to is the "contest".  It isn't freaking rocket science.

As for your second attempt at a point, yu perhaps failed to read "In the event of a dispute concerning the Competition, EA's decision shall be final and legally binding."  Also somewhere in there it states "Sponsor reserves the right at its sole discretion to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Competition."

Legally, the are within thier rights.

I agree they could have said something sooner, but at the same point people shouldn't be so quick to engage in questionable activity.

BioWare is responding quickly. You guys do realize that they all have jobs and the extra work of going through thousands upon thousands of twitter responses, too.

It would be nice to have the tokens reset now. That way we can try to work back up some tokens (through link exchanges and Facebook, etc.).

BioWare owes nothing to you.

I just promoted the hell out Mass Effect 2 and Dragon Age all over the net--legitmately without img tags--and they don't owe me the decency of not resetting my total to zero? I disagree.

Well, as one of the Jesuits at my university would say, "Tough ****".

Chris Priestly wrote...  This is not a "flip in policy". This has always been our policy that people who try to exploit the rules or nature of the auction to benefit are cheating. Stan posted his personal opinion on the matter as he stated.

Given the number of people who think otherwise, I for one think it is in fact a "flip in policy";  Just like there has been other rules stated that BioWare 'flipped' on like the judges looking at ALL Twitter entries.  I am just suggesting people be given leeway given the obvious discrepancy.  Furthermore the offense is far from harmful/spamming to the rest of the extranet community;  The point being the apparent lack of malign thought.

That'll also be my philosphy when I stop buying their games and start pirating them if they **** us over.

Any amendments to the Competition shall be effective when we make the notification available to you.

I think you didn't read that part there, Mr. SlothDemon.

or you just chose to not acknowledge it out of your strife for ignorance.

I also said it was sketchy and likely an exploit, if you wish to look to my comment. I'm not involved in the contest at all and wasn't trying to make any definitive statement on rules. I was merely doing my job as a forum Moderator to enforce our Site Rules. Besides which, no matter what I say about a contest or giveaway (and I said very little), I defer to official rules--such as the posted BioWare Bazaar event rules and our posted Site Rules--and Mr. Priestly in all matters community-related.

I apologize if anyone misinterpreted the intention and content of my comment.

Somewhat off topic (giggle), but where/what is this flip about twitter responses? Were they not always randomly picking from all submitted entries within the timeframe?

I wouldn't at all say you were to blame for anything Stanley, but the thing is, you were the only one to have given ANY response at all to the issue when it first presented itself. So all we had to reference was your post.

yes, effective at time of announcement. therefore people using it prior to the announcement, and whom stopped using it after the announcement are rightfully exempt, according to the policy, from having their tokens removed.

Didn't facebook do that on its own prior to today? At least it automatically previewed the site yesterday when link was entered but didn't today. Or is that something else completely?

Defer all you want the rules still wern't clear and by your response the team obviously knew that there was questions by the community at large that went unanswered.

Don't get me wrong, as I tweeted I still want my Chris and Woo action figures from the Bioware store but this is seriously a FUBAR SNAFU.

Sorry doesn't help much if I'm disqualified for my misunderstanding.
So are we allowed to remain in the competition if we've stopped using the method since learning?

It makes me a bit sad that you feel the need to apologize here.

Those who used this exploit were in the wrong, not you.

I just love how there's pictures of geth talking about code and cheating and getting all angry! It totally makes me giggle. :)

And Mr. Woo, you are much to polite and nice to be a forum moderator. Don't let this get to you! I won't blame you if my tokens get reset.
