Which is the most effective Soldier Bonus Talent? (I dearly hope it doesn't involve MORE ammo types...)

I agree with the Geth Shield Boost being nice - since you can evolve it to be an extra 10% weapon damage.

I'm very partial to Warp Ammo; but if you don't want an ammo power, Geth Shield boost makes a good combo with hardened adrenaline rush, shock trooper, and the Revenant light machine gun. That will make you really, really tough so you can charge in like Rambo and mow down everything with your big ass machine gun.
Dominate can also be a lot fun although probably not as useful as the shield boost. And of course Reave is ridiculously powerful, although it sucks some of the fun out of the game in my opinion (plus it seems odd to give a biotic power to a non biotic Shepard).

I've used Inferno Grenade, myself. Reave is another good one. I guess it's what ever one you find the most fun, cause that's ultimately the most important thing.

I always felt that a soldier never needed a bonus power but if you do want one pick GBS plus AR equals intense charging.

So what power are you guys giving up on the Soldier to take a bonus power? I always felt that every power on the Soldier was a must.

I agree but some people aren't very sentimental toward Concussive Shot.

Definitely cryo ammo. It's great against unprotected enemies; but they drop fast anyway. It does help against husks; but why waste points on another ammo power when you could just bring the Firestorm with you and burn the bastard's to the ground?

Bonus Power to use ? Nothing
Soldiers dont need anything unless you want a bit of Biotic use for something different, then Reave and Slam are good.
Barrier/Geth shield are a waste tbh, 12 sec cooldown keeps you out of Adren rush while you could just use unity if you need to refresh HP/Shields quickly.
They have all the ammo types you need that the others you can get as a bonus you wont notice any improvement from.

On geth missions I prefer energy drain. Nothing like mowing down a incoming geth hunter with the reverent and finishing him off with the energy drain to replenish your shields and start the same process with the next geth.

GSB imo, even just 1 point is enough, it instantly restores your shields so use it as an "oh-shyte" button when you're low on health and unable to get behind cover quickly enough. (And when there's noone on your squad dead for Unity etc.)

If I could I'd drop both cryo and concussive shot. Cryo I don't have much use for as a soldier and concussive shot.. just seems like quite a few of your squadmates have that ability. I took AP ammo for bonus power to get tungsten ammo, yes I need more ammo powers, I shred with tungsten while squaddies set things on fire with incendiary. Win win

I like the incapacitating slam. Makes dealing with the weak enemies easier cause it gives you a bit of crowd control, and the 3 second recharge is just so quick.

I've always been a fan of squad cryo and the heavy version of the other ammo for myself. Your squad gives you a surprising amount of crowd control when they have cryo on. I prefer inferno on my guns when dealing with organics rather than tungsten. Tungsten is only 10% more damage, which is hardly noticeable on a soldier, especially during an AR. However inferno is great in dealing with enemies once their shields go down, and a soldier takes down shields really quickly, because they panic and don't fire back. Soldiers don't need bonus powers. They're overpowered just with the skills they have.

I pick AP ammo really early on, but drop it as soon as I can max out Inferno ammo. I prefer getting all 3 ammo types over a bonus power. Considering Soldier starts with all the best ammo types and AR is the best use of your cooldown, you don't need a bonus power.
