I don't know the date that the third one started, but there are approximately 158,000 posts across the three Tali support threads, and ME2 has been out since January 26, a little over 2 months.  It comes out to a little over 100 posts per hour for 2 months straight.  That rate has stayed pretty constant since the beginning.

She's 24 in the events of ME2, 22 for ME1.  Hardly a kid.  If you just mean she comes across as a little sister figure, that's an opinion I've seen a few times from people, and its perfectly understandable.  Its just that though, an opinion.  I never got a little sister vibe from her.  To each their own.

I don't really want to expound on the whole why people see her as a LI thing again, but quick version, there are a lot of things that people like about her personality, and she is physically attractive on top of that.
