I've also gone in when sexual inuendos and downright sexual jokes were being told that often lasted for pages.  Add to that the number of times I have seen sex in general being discussed.  Now, in all fairness, I could be singling out the instances of sexual related posts in my memory, but I don't think so. 

I'm not saying you are wrong, just that I haven't seen anything to justify your opinion.

I'm classifying sexually explicit pictures basically as anything that needs censored to be able to be posted here.  There are only a few of them, and they very rarely get posted.  I'm not really sure on you're definition for explicit pictures.  Anything that shows her from behind?  Or just embellishes her figure?  There are plenty of tasteful and well drawn pictures that could fit those categories.  You really have to take it on a case by case basis.  Its usually very easy to tell what the artists intent is. 

I will say that people generally don't protest the suggestive pictures of her where she is fully clothed unless they're really bad, I think mainly because we've become calloused to them over time.  I've seen most of the pictures so many times I just keep scrolling without thinking about them.  I'm sure most do the same, doesn't mean anyone necessarily approves, just that they don't want to start a flame war.  And a flame war has started multiple times because of those pictures.

As far as innuendo and sex jokes, I've seen the romance scene discussed some, as well as complications of the sexual relationship, but that was much more common earlier in the thread.  That kind of stuff is less common now, most of that discussion at the time was information based, people legitimately curious about it. 

I classify the more obscene stuff in the same way as the pictures.  I disapprove, but I'm not gonna start a flame war over it.  That kind of thing was also a lot more common early in the thread.  I haven't seen anything too bad like that in the last few weeks.

I like the character of Tali.  She's probably my second favorite after Jack.

I can't stand her fans.  More specifically the fans who post on the massive thread.

It's not anything to do with adult pictures or anything like that.  It's that the thread is such a complete and utter black hole of content, with page after page of reply pyramids made up of one line, people leaving and entering as if the thing was a chat room (you know, here's a hint: when somebody stops posting and replying, you can probably take that as a pretty big hint that they aren't at the computer, hmm?), and the thing moves so fast with this absolutely pointless content that anything worthwhile gets lost in the mix of useless reply after useless reply.

I actually pop into the other character threads every so often, especially the less popular ones, because I know they're probably talking about something of substance regarding their favorite character, rather than uselessly inflating their page count with utterly vapid and uninteresting blather.

There are other threads that do the same thing, but Tali is so the Platonic ideal of this nonsense that it annoys me more than any other thread of this type.

Creepy people focus on the sex that can be had with someone rather than their personality.  If one of those posters said they liked tali for her personality then I might be inclined to call them a liar. 

By my own logic, women and men who engage in sex just because are creepy.  Women and Men who comment on a person's appearance before their character are creepy.  Anyone who posts anything about sex with a character are creepy because I wouldn't want to be caught in a dark alley with them if I were a 20 year old girl.  Who in their right mind wants to be undressed by people's eyes?  That level of suggestiveness is what I find creepy.

I would be saying this about the Miranda thread but it is a given that they care more about sex than personality, and thus my comments are meaningless.  Tali is a character that has personality and who is physically separated from sex yet people still want to talk about it like it is appropriate.

Your complaint is an exaggeration, but has some truth to it.  The simple explanation is that there are too many people posting there at certain times of the day.  When a 25 post page is filled up in under 3 minutes, and most of the posts are role play spam or something else equally useless, it makes it near impossible to have intelligent discussions.  I avoid the thread for the most part at those times of day, and luckily, its a pretty constant time frame.  Going into the thread, you can usually predict the level of activity based on the time. 

That said, more than half of the day, the thread goes slow enough to allow intelligent discussion.  I don't consider myself a fan who contributes to useless numerical page spam.  When I make a post, its usually responding or looking for a response from someone who is looking to discuss a certain point. 

Again, it's generalizing all Tali fans on the actions of some.  The spamming groups that hit at certain times of the day are a large group, but there is also a completely different group that hangs out at different times of the day and tend to focus on well thought out discussion.  If you want to avoid the spam that happens at certain times of the day, by all means do, I usually do.  But don't let that discourage you from dropping in at a lower traffic time to see if a discussion interests you.

Tali is hands down my fav Character in ME.If you go back and look through older threads you will see my name.New and old sites.  Other then that I completely agree with everything you have said. And you will not find a stronger Tali supporter then me.But that thread has been a joke for a long time now (imo).

Ah, well I ensure you that a lot of people agree with your thought process (though not as many that find the sexually explicit ones bad,) but the simple fact is that there is nothing that we as a thread can do to deter those pictures from being posted.  They adhere to forum rules, and all of our complaining and verbally attacking of posters who want to post that stuff can't keep them from posting that stuff in the future.  It bothered some people so much that a lot of people left the thread because of it, and some made their own Tali discussion group where that stuff isn't allowed. 

There is a clear group of people who are against that stuff, but the fact is that we aren't moderators, and can't stop it from being posted.  My opinion is its best to just ignore/block the picture and move on.  Starting a flame war over it doesn't accomplish anything except derailing the thread.

As far as creepy people in general, sure there are some, just as there will be in any character thread, and any place on the internet really.  But Tali fans in general get a bad reputation, when most of us aren't like that at all.  I don't remember when the last time someone took a poll was, but I know that Tali's personality was a runaway winner for the reason most people liked her.  Her physical attractiveness doesn't hurt, but I would like her just as much if her hips were less pronounced.  Most Tali fans share my view. 

If you prefer to avoid the thread completely instead of ignoring the creepy people there like I've learned to do, that's your choice, and its perfectly fine.  I'm more interested in making it clear that the majority of the people are nothing like we are often described.
