If you started reading the main Tali support thread from page one right now, do you think you could ever catch up to it?

Guys! Guys! Guys! (and Ladies)
We need to focus here or this thread will get locked for being redundant.
Remember this is not a thread to discuss Tali.
This is a thread to discuss the thread that is about Tali. Where we can come up with reasons as to why that thread has grown so large and continues to grow so quickly.
It's ok just Talifans and Talimancers alike, please try and stay focused here, we appreciate all of you coming into this thread to help answer many of our questions (and concerns)
That being said, to everyone in here do you think people post in the Tali thread still because of their love for Tali or because of all the friendships they've forged since the thread got way overblown?
If wanted friends, could have moved to location more difficult to troll.

For me, speaking of the last 4 days, definitely for Tali. Over the last month I've known a few friends though.cos1ne wrote...

I enjoy many things in video games, but one thing I really love is a good storyline and characters. And Tali, as a character, appeals to me on many levels. When a story can get me involved emotionally, it has done it's job. I could list reasons why I like Tali so much (even without using the phrase "dem hips"), but I think that might be counter-productive. Suffice to say I would be very sad to see her go.
I started posting on the Tali thread because it contained like-minded people, people who find Tali to be an incredibly deep and likable character and do not want to see her or her storyline die. I figured the more posts in support of Tali, the more likely Bioware is to include her in future Mass Effects.
And as I hung around, the thread grew on me. A sort of indoctrination took place, and I started posting and reading more and more. We don't just talk about Tali, there are lots of other topics discussed. And I find it a fun place to be.
This is a large group of individuals with a common interest....of course it will continue to explode in size. And as long as it remains fun, it will continue to grow.
Tali has "gone viral", in a sense. The internets have a way of doing that to seemingly trivial things.
That's my interpretation of it all at least.

Both. I usually don't like forums much, but having Tali in ME3 is important to me, so I eventually stumbled across the Tali thread and was delighted to see that I'm far from the only one who's concerned about that.
Each post in that thread makes me feel a tiny little bit safer about having her in ME3. Having friends in the thread and occasionally joking around a bit makes the whole thing much more fun, of course. If the thread always only bored me, I wouldn't be visiting it any more. If I didn't care about having Tali as a squadmate in ME3 anymore, I wouldn't visit the thread either anymore though.
So, yeah, both.

There is currently a thread started about the "Tali thread phenomenon", why it is so long. Please believe me...I'm just very curious. I've been at this internet thingie a long time, and a member of lots of boards...and until now, I think about 160 pages was the longest I've seen. What is is about Tali'Zorah that would inspire this kind of devotion?
Honestly I think the first mistake is equating the amount of devotion the average Tali fan has to page count. They aren't equal -- hell, they aren't even proportional. Her fans certainly adore her as a character, but the massive page count is due to a number of things.
First and foremost is, of course, her character's personality. She is likable and has generally good dialogue with some funny lines, she is intelligent, unselfish and kind, but not afraid to stand up for herself, and she is cute and endearing, but has a rather sexy, exotic accent .
Her romance plot also hits a sort of sweet spot in a number of ways. Especially if you stretch back to ME1, it isn't rushed, forced, or contrived. She naturally grows from friend to love interest, rather than the other characters who, especially in the first game, go from newly acquainted to lovers over the course of just a few dialogues.
Those alone don't explain it, though. Honestly, the page count of the Tali thread has just as much, if not more, to do with the simple fact that the thread has become something of a community unto itself. The whole thread isn't just about discussing Tali, it is more about Tali fans coming together and talking about stuff. The thread sort of oscillates around Tali; as a topic she isn't the main focus, she is more like a catalyst for discussion of various things that often fly off into left field. Many people go there not just to talk about Tali, but to talk to the people on the board that they know best. After all, every conceivable topic has been rehashed a hundred times anyway. When I drop into a thread it is usually to give my opinion about something or debate a topic. When I drop into the Tali thread, it is to socialize.

We're just making sure. And besides, no harm in showing BioWare is doing a good job, right?Gavinthelocust wrote...
But do you guys really think without the thread they would reduce her to a cameo? That would be like Square dropping Final Fantasy, it would ****** off so many people. When something works well, in this case Tali, you don't get rid of it and Bioware is smart enough to know that.

No, but like inded people like to group together to discuss things. Its a fun place, really. Its not going to hurt our chances of Tali in ME3.
Btw: funny pic

It's something I've worried about - that they would kill her off to get an emotional rise out of players...Similar has been done before in other games. Or, move her to a small role like they did with Liara and Ashley/Kaiden and Wrex.
They cannot unwittingly underestimate her fanbase when they see a thread that size.
