Why does everyone seperate EA and Bioware?

If I bought over priced food at harris teeter (A supermarket in my area or US.) I would blame them not the brand of food....

and if you bought a brand of food where the price is dictated to the store(happens with a lot of name brand items....food's a weird example) then you would be wrong to blame the supermarket. bottom line is there's no one to blame since the purchase is a choice made by you. you are not forced to buy it and it is not a need like clothing.

A bit self-righteous, aren't you? I'd like to see you design a game in such a short span of time and make it have absolutely no bugs.

Seriously, your post makes no sense.Who said anything about a game with no bugs at all?The problem are the game breaking bugs that exist since the original game was released for many users(myself included).

6 months have passed since then..a short span of time?I think not.

I have had no problems with it. But gamers seem to be 70% whiners from what I see.

Oh really? How ironic your statement is my friend.
Well of course you would not be upset since you have no problem with it ffs!The other 70% of the players that DO have a problem with it "whine" as you said because they bought an unfinished product that works as intented for only a certain percent of the gamer population.(like you)

Trust me,you would be a "whiner" too if you had bought the original game and wasn't able to play it till now.6 months after release. The expansion is out and the game is STILL UNPLAYABLE!!!kk cool guy?

what the heck are you playing it on that origins is still unplayable for you? i can understand there being bugs that may mess with things, but for a game to be unplayable when it is very playable with the 1.02a patch i wonder what you're trying to play it on.

agreed. rolled back to 1.02 its the most stable and playable patch imo.

Wait no reputation bugs(see the entire cadre of companions) with awakening?  No side-quest bugging out/unavailable.   Impressive, do tell how your magically fixed these when the reputation scripts are 100% bugged.

Yeah, I know of that grade-A douchebag. Check out this article. It's amazing that people don't react to it, but I'm still not really surprised. The new age of gaming seems built around pacification and consumerism.

It's becoming painfully evident that the gaming community and market I grew up with is long dead and gone, unfortunately. It's a mixed blessing, because my favourite passtime and medium is slowly degenerating into a cesspool of fail and moneygrubbing, but on the other hand, it could end up forcing me to finally get going on something worthwile.

Or not.

Oh dear God, that man is EVIL!!! :(  I don't think I'll buy anything with Activision on it ever again. Oh well never cared much for most their games anyway.

Did you really mean to include Activision in this mess or did you mean EA?

Well, both are pretty bad, but I was refering to the link leads to an article about the CEO of Activision, and boy, does he love money and hate video games.

Wow, I had rented and played DA:O right before the 09 Holiday's for my PS3 and then got the PC version of DA:O.

Since I couldn't rent a stand alone expansion (actually I haven't gone back to Family Video in a while but...) before thinking about shelling out the same amount of money that I paid for DA I'd just like to thank everyone here on this forum for sparing me the pain of the dreaded 1.03 patch.

I can't say that I blame you all for "whining" period.

Actually, I'm barely experiencing any of the bugs being mentioned here either. It's not that they were fixed in our games, it's that they were never present. So it's hard to say. (Except for the approval one, I have that one. But I have none of the game-breaking ones, like the side-quest one, I never encountered it)

Anyone having problems during character creation? I can't see my new character during creation and when I start playing with the new character it was male and bald when I created a female character.

One thing is remarkable:

When you look at the old Bio-boards, you will hardly find a thread in which important things like bugs, patch-news etc. is discussed without at least one statement of a dev / QA-guy / moderator.

During the last week and probably longer, I don't see much dev-posts in generally and much less when it comes to valid complaints respectively qualified criticism.

Well, that is a 180° change of course in regard of former communications policies and a huge step down from an excellent company to one under many, for whom the debate with their communities seems to be an annoyance.

Now we can add the facts (Awakening):

1) Bugged game, technically (crashes, lags) and gameplay

2) At least questionable with regard to content and game length

3) Almost non-existent communications / feedbacks

4) Bad support

We just can hope, that this is an unfortunate series of events or a concatenation of circumstances.

Otherwise, when there is no change in near future... will we see another formerly excellent game-developer go down the drain?

I agree. There is some sort of major shift and/or major oversight afoot that we have zero details of so far. An interesting notable thing for me for instance was when calling EA for support the telephone phone tree doesn't even mention the BioWare games. They are under the last entry, 'Other' or '9' on the keypad. Now, it may be very likely based on sales and problems with other EA products that BioWare is tucked under 'Other' but I don't like it one bit. On the other hand it no longer matters to me as I enjoyed the trouble free DA:O experience greatly and I'm getting a full refund on Awakening. I just have to finish weening myself off of EA games.

I'd also like to mention that I'm thankful EA at least allows the resale of its BioWare products on the PC.  I've resold DA:O for $20 which means I played the game for $30 and considering the experience I got from DA:O that was a very good return.  Actually, that's not accurate.  I paid also for the DLCs out too.  I can at least say that I recovered $20 from the overall experience and that's better then nothing.

All the whining I see about DA is amazing, and what is funny I see the same thing on other broads and other games from other companies

But I want someone to show me a perfect game, and the perfect gaming company, please cause I have not found it yet and I want to play it..

There is a giant divide between a broken game and a perfect game. People here got screwed over bad. Many have spent over $100 on a game and expansion pack that now do not work without crashes every couple of minutes. On top of that Bioware in one month has only stated that they are looking into it. EA provides zero customer support and even sayes that Windows 7 was never tested despite that it is a recommended requirement.

People are pissed off and justifiably so. People whining about whiners is just over the top though. Quit being hypocritical and trying to troll and make things worse.
