My damned cat knocked over my Xbox 360 while it was running with the second ME2 disk in it. Take out the disk to find a nasty ring sratched into it about an inch and 1/2 from the center. Brilliant! Now of course I can't get past the "press start" screen.

I've heard about the old toothpast trick where you rub it in along the scratches, but does that really work? Any other methods? Damn cat! I feel like swearing randomly at people now.

If it's badly scratched, no amount of tooth paste is gonna bring it back. And you're just going to end up wrecking your 360.

Try it at your own risk.

On the bright side, if you do end up bricking your 360, at least it'll be a nice smelling brick.

Toothpaste trick sorta works but your better off trying to get the disc machine buffed instead

Having the game installed to the HD means you would be able to play it, since  the 360 only needs to know the disc is in to let you play without accessing it - and since you can get the 'start' screen that will work fine!

Was your xbox vertical? Totally a bad idea, known to scratch disks a lot more due to its wobbling about / killer cat prowlings :P
