You are keeping up with the image link controversy, right?

Hadn't really been online for a few days, no.  First I've heard of it, and removed mine, for what it's worth.  *shrug* Though I'm wondering how exactly they're tracking it... it seems like it would be just as easy to exploit against somebody as for yourself...   get a huge compilation of peoples links and put those in your sigs somewhere or another, generating mass image load clicks for them and making it look like they're doing it, getting them DQd.

You're still a day behind then. They fixed the issue by introducing a new redirect page - it prevents the image tactic and some similar things (like Facebook) from making page loads count as referals.

Still doesn't guarantee that they know about the image links people have been using on other forums though, so those people could still sweep the auctions.

Well, they have claimed that they can who has been using the exploit...

RobUnreal there's an extra space at the end of the url in your sig. it'd probably help if you removed it.

I checked my count and while I would hope it was higher it is pretty close to in line for the average decline over the last couple days.

They claimed that action will be taken against them, but if they've ever said if they can track the traffic or they're simply monitoring sigs, I haven't seen it.

Ah, very good then, though I'm not sure I should apologize for missing a thread that got one response and then locked.

So I guess the remaining question would be, did they ever confirm if there was a window for ceasing to use it, or is it just 'if you did at all, you're out, period".

Meh, I got tired of doing the work either way.  I'll just go through the exchange topics daily since that doesn't take long and whatever happens on Tuesday happens.

Judging from the language of Mr. Priestly's post, I'd say that anyone who has used the exploit at any point during the contest is as good as eliminated from the auctions.

You know, until I started getting into the 'community', I never realized just how terrible their 'community' organization is.

Yeah, BW Austin is awesome though, did you see the Sarlacc Enforcer update for TOR? Those guys know how to have some fun.

I've been distracted from a lot of stuff... Script Frenzy is a hectic month.

I'm at 14233 however I suspect someone was cheating for me, not that it matters any as my points are just there for show

I was particularly surprised by it being stated that tokens would be reset to zero right before the auction. That just seems actively CRUEL.

Not to mention speaking volumes about the sheer amount of greed and how little this has to do with the actual community. After all, if they told people right now that they were out of the running, why would they bother giving BW the mass amounts of free advertising that some of them still will?

I've seen places as non-responsive as this before (though not many), but it's like they're *actively* working *against* their 'community'.

The only reason we're being DQ'd anyway is because image links don't lead to possible sales. I wouldn't be surprised if they decided to do the same for people using multilinks.

truthfully I think the reset may have been a bluff to get people to stop cheating, but we will see on the big day

Only 7395. :[

I need to win some twitter tokens. So do any of us under 10k tokens have a chance? I gave up hope long ago for the computer, but a poster might be nice.
