You really should have waited for some sort of transition before making this thread. We've gone immediately from curling to beach volleyball. That's abrupt.

Himura, not that close. Liberdade (liberty), our Little Tokyo in São Paulo is some 30 minutes drive. (perhaps 10 mins on Sundays when traffic is gone!)
And more General Culture -
Brazil is slightly larger than the continental USA, If you don't add Alaska to the calc. Only, we run North-South i/o East-West like N.America. However, the US has its population a lot better distributed than the almost 200 million Brazilian.
Easy to see that here:

Now, if you want to really come close to the planet, try this. WARNING: It is a really big picture file, 8MB size, but awesome indeed!
Oh, I live in that brightest spot in South America. I have also lived for a time in the brightest spot in Europe and in N.America... lol... I'm a moth... easily attracted by big lights! (that would be São Paulo, London and NYC)

Weird... looking at the big one in original size... Rio de Janeiro seems even brighter than São Paulo, which has some 10million more people (18x8).
It must be those damn super holophotes at Copacabana and Ipanema beach! =))
