My workmate two desks down is from Bosnia. His wife is Brazilian. She is from the Sao Paulo area. They brought me back a shot of some Brazilian liquor. Here, let me get the bottle....

It's called Cachaca Brasiliana. I wonder if it's good, haven't popped it open yet.

There's a wonderful scene in the last part of Disney's Saludos Amigos about Cachaça. Very funny.

Also, watch it. That's still my favorite version of the song. I loved that movie in my childhood.

Soy Inglés de York (el original!) Mi esposa es Mexicana y tambien soy licenciado en lenguas modernas.

It's a special feeling being in a major firefight at night, overhear the TACP (tactical air control party) say "...danger close" on the radio, look up in time to watch the plane laze the target then a second later see the stream of bullets, hear the first "BUARRRRRRP" and then the second one followed by silence as the talibobs realise they're going to get whopped if they don't go home in the next 10 seconds or so.

Oh oh! I know another fact! If I remember correctly Brazil is the only country still using & producing the FN-FAL 7.62x51 as standard issue rifle fro their army!
Though I don't know if its the full size FAL or the paratrooper version with the short barrel and folding stock, but its still awesome. FAL = best military rifle ever made.

Any of you Brazil heads know if one can get that liquor, Cachaça, someone in the states? If it's made from sugar molasses, that's going to be something I'll fall in love with....

uh.. not sure I understood but if you want to buy Pinga, which is the popular name for Cachaça (just don't say pinga near Porto Riquenhos because it means something else for them) there are export quality of it sold around the globe. =) (I still prefer vodka in my caipirinha. Had an overdose of pinga at 15 and could never even smell it after the next day!)
