Not sure if any other boards have gone this direction, but 4chan is now giving out 24 hour auto-bans for posting a bioware link. (Yes, I just found this out from experience)

Oh well.  I probably squeased about a hundred from there today, was a good run.

I didn't think 4chan would really respond to referral links like this. I thought about posting there but decided against it, 100 clicks isn't much but it's not bad.

Anyway, we'll survive.

I think this is great. Just because BioWare wants to encourage spaming, doesn't mean other websites have to go along with it.

That is a bit heavy handed.

Lol, I was abusing 4chan for some of my earlier links until I found more effective methods. But I was contributing to the threads I began. I have some very humorous /b/ material.

A few didn't take kindly to me either. Oh well, can't blame them.

But is there any forum on the internet where referrals are allowed?

Best way to do it is to trick people. Like 'OMG HALO REACH GAMEPLAY FOOTAGE' or something and then clicking on it and learning what they've actually done.

Not enough to trick the smarter people, mind you, seeing as you can check out the URL in the bottom left corner of the browser, but then again, thousands of people are being Rick Rolled every day.

Getting banned from places..is it really worth it? That means you can't ever go back..ip banned correct?

Why do that? Maybe I'm old-fashioned, but deliberately peeing people off, just isn't the way to go.

Use a URL shortener to fool people. It works.

Agreed.

Sadly the refferal links encourage exactly that sort of behavior. Its really easy to get overzealous in your pursuit of crack tokens.

A ban from a forum I'm never been to and a few more tokens seems worth it to me.

I pissed some people off on Digg for ending my comment with my link. It worked pretty damn well...until I did it in two front page articles in a row. Then I got buried verrrrrry deep :3

I received a warning on the eVGA forum for posting a referral link...

I don't know when the rest of the Internet will rise against BioWare's marketing gimmicks, but of course, they will...
