I'm glad to help. Don't worry about being a noob at least you don't waste a lot of time on computer articles like me

EDIT: If you want to future proof, you should take Doofus' advice and get that Corsair. It would be a good investment since PSUs are one of, if not the most important component in a computer and comply to a standard size so even you wanted a brand new computer, you could take the TX650 out and plop it in the new one.

I have gotten arguments about having named the PSU as number three from the top three in importance for best game performance in this locally published article (Dragon Age's TechForum):

PC Hardware Basics (and inventorying PC Components):
social.bioware.com/forum/1/topic/58/index/509580

I hope that any wastes of time on "articles" was for material from other authors, not including any of the several I posted on the Social Forum Site (mostly, as above, on the Dragon Age tech discussion forum).

I've expanded the original reply that I added in this thread at the start.  My smallest enclosure in active use here is a Cooler Master Elite, but far too many HP models are sold in the "slimline" mini micro box, instead of a proper case (oops, left this out -- and I didn't verify that the HP model I'd found and linked to was only sold in the normal shaped case), and those slimline boxes won't accept a standard ATX power supply because of the too-small size.

Demonik - That's great to hear! Just hang onto the crossfire piece. It is used when you have 2 ATI video cards running in parallel. Your system can not do Crossfire because it only has 1 PCI-e x16 slot.

Sounds like it is time for your Shep to kick some ass!

What PSU and videop card did you get?

All of this stuff just kinda kicks me in the crotch...my XPS M1530 has the Geforce 6800M...which means its obsolete now...Which doesn't make sense because I can still get decent graphics for 3 to 4 hours...I then just have to give it an hour brake and its good to play again...The performance got even better when I moved all my games over to my new 1 terabyte external hard drive...I've been thinking of getting the external ram upgrade, but I've run out of slots :P.

One is taken by my wireless mouse, the other one is taken up by the EHD(external hard drive) and the last is taken up by an exterior fan I have to help keep the laptop from overheating.

Hehe, I guess it all depends on what settings you like to play at really. I would't be able to play with that hardware BUT I'm very stubborn about playing at a resolution of 1920x1080 because I've gotten used to doing everything else at that size. Objectively thinking, I'm not playing this very smart when my income isn't great but shhh... :P
