Hi folks,

I'm sure by now many of you have seen the "Tali Unmasked" Fan art which absolutely blew the socks off most who saw it. I decided to make a nice little Forum Display Picture from it for people to use around teh interwebs.

Posted Image

Or a direct link here.

I hope it's useful to you fans, and if the artist would like to reveal themselves so we can gawp in amazement, please do

EDIT: Thanks to Aubrey, we can now credit this picture to an artist named Vespaz. In addition, the direct link now leads to a picture of epic proportions.

Thankyou Aubrey and SUPERTHANKS to Vespaz.

PS: Here's the original for those that haven't seen it in it's full screen glory. I just wish there was one big enough to be my wallpaper.

EDIT: Direct link is bigger: here is the bigger version.

That is a nice piece of unmasked Tali art. Maybe a little to human-ish, but still. Nicely done.

She is actually quite beautiful looking. Notice the cybernetics on the forehead? Dead sexy (no sarcasm).

Nice to see some fan art that isn't a clone of a night elf or downright creepy. Although i always imagined quarians to be a bit more avian-looking. Dunno why exactly, maybe it's the chicken legs.

Seems like ingame rendering, not fanmade, only the visor removal seems so.

You'd be amazed at what people are capable of, anyway, looks like a good unmasked Tali to me. Dunno why she has wires on her forehead but im not here to complain...

More than the face I'd be interested to see the shape of their heads inside the helmet. When I look at it it seems like the backs of their heads are... flatter somehow, and that their skulls are longer from back to front.

Maybe it's just me. Helmets are weird like that.

Just isn't alien enough. I'd also like to see some artwork that took into account Grunt's claim that Quarians aren't as soft as humans. Perhaps they have more in common with Turians than just their amino acids.

However, this does remind me of the article I just read on how they created Thane. Basically, they said all they had to do to make a guy happy with an alien love interest was take a human, paint it blue, made sure it had nice breasts. Since I'm making the assumption Tali appeals to mostly guys, it would imply all they had to do was take a human, paint it grey, make sure she has nice hips. And breasts.

I'd like to see a bit of Geth in the shape of their heads. Created in their own image.

The original picture (and this edit, to a lesser degree) is done well enough, on a technical level.

Other than that, I think it's pretty damn unimaginative, and seems more fitting of being in one of those "Tali in a wedding dress" fanarts.

I like the idea, but I think the eyebrows need to go.  I pictured her face pretty smooth.  I would also think the face would be a bit longer, like we shouldn't be able to see the mouth.  I like the geth idea!

Eww, no. She looks like a zombie :-/

It may upset some of the whiners, but Tali's face is her visor and it should stay that way. Besides, I'd miss the little flashing light on her face when she talks <3

That is the first truly epic art of Tali that I've seen. Here's hoping BioWare hires whoever did it.

Nnnah. It's very pretty, don't get me wrong, but it's way too human.

The quarians are mostly human looking. The legs are just slightly different and they have 3 fingers instead of 5 but the facial characteristics CAN be seen through the mask: smooth skin(no scales or feathers or anything), human shaped eyes though glowing and a human like nose. There is nothing wrong with that picture. The only thing you could argue about is skin color but that's it.

I always took the silhouette of the face behind the mask as a placeholder, a means to get the effect of the eyes behind the mask. A limitation of the game mechanics and not meant as a definitive statement about her face.

And the legs and fingers are more like Turian than human.

I like there to be a bit more imagination with aliens. The most disappointing alien in Mass Effect by far has been the Asari.

Tali is by far the most loved character in the series and by ME2 they KNOW that everthing that can be seen about her is EXTREMELY important to fans. If they ever show her face in the game I can GUARANTEE you they won't change what we know and can see now......yes that means there won't be any scales, the nose will be normal and her eyes will have a normal shape. Plus I highly doubt they'll do anything crazy with her mouth, not when 99% of the rest of her is essentially human.

Which is why they shouldn't show anything about her face in the game, because either they're appeasing you or appeasing me, and neither of us is any more a fan of Mass Effect than the other.
