You know what?
Batarians have, lips, eyes, eyelids and ears, they also have more human looking bodies than the quarians.
Drell have lips, eyes, eyelids and much more human looking bodies.
Yet both these species look very alien, they're still humanoid but in no way are they as human as the picture the OP posted.

Personally I don't think many people in "reality" would find a quarian to be physically attractive.
Ever had a cast on your arm for a few months? Now imagine that except all over, thats what a quarians skin would be like, it would also be incredibly sensitive and pasty due to lack of light and exposure. (but for those who actually like Tali this shouldn't be a problem)

Sadly Bioware ruined the best oportunity to reveal Tali's face (or even just a quarian's face in general) so I think they probably won't ever be showing it and thus these debates will continue Image IPB

You just don't know what straws to grasp at do you? The asari also have lips and eyes and all that and they look perfectly human aside from the tentacles. Tali's eys and nose have a perfectly normal shape as is highly likely to be her mouth. Her eyes may be glowing or of a strange/different color but they are stil shaped like that of a human and the picture captured this perfectly. Then let's not forget that her skin is perfectly smooth as that of any human.

Now quarians are more technologically advanced than humans and 175 years in the future....I'm sure there are more pleasant ways of sealing their bodies and maintaining them in acceptable conditions.

You can hate all you like but this is over.

I'm not hating I just think its makes more sense for an alien to look....well... alien.

Nice to see some fan art that isn't a clone of a night elf or downright creepy. Although i always imagined quarians to be a bit more avian-looking. Dunno why exactly, maybe it's the chicken legs.

I agree, although the "chicken legs" are on of the best parts imho. I always expected them to look like that, but more purple or blue though.

I absolutely LOVE this Tali art. I planned on making my "canon" romance Jack, but this art has rekindled my love for the little chicken. :)

Plus, this looks frelling epic as my wallpaper, though I wish there was a native 1080p version.

I can only surmise the tentacles are inside her mouth.

Hair, eyebrows superfluous ... skin lacks acne scarring that should be present from her recently-departed teen years.

Third and fourth nostrils missing.

Otherwise, pretty good!

Someone needs to give the artist a job in the industry- if he/she isn't already employed. It's very well done, and would fool most people into thinking it was genuine.

I like it, and think it's VERY well done, but I agree with most that she's 'too' human looking. When I think of her face, I think pale white, white cloudy eyes and elongated- sort of 'horse-faced'. Just from the silhouette you see through the mask. But, by far some of the best fan art I have ever seen.

I don't like it. I've seen humans who look more alien than she does.

Just wanted to say this: The picture fits wonderfully well as a wallpaper. It's currently set as my wallpaper and I have to say it's... fascinating.

Very nice.  I approve.  Although I have been saying that I think that Tali's beauty is in the mystery behind her looks.

Hehe... fun to read this topic :)

Just a little note about the "too human":
Zoom the picture to see the whole. Now, look at it. The neck definitely longer than normal. The head itself smaller. The eyes are too small and apart. Add the whole body to the picture like the fingers and the shape of the lower leg. And you can't see the ears or the back of the skull.
So if I'd see someone like her on the street, regardless of the skintone and hair, I'd say definitely not human. And I really think that most people wouldn't think she's attractive. More that "it's a freak".
(A little addition: the quarians and turians legs are not similar at all, except the numbers of their fingers. The quarians have normal hips and tights. Only the lower leg, under the knee is curved. And after that have normal feet. Turins legs are on the side of the hips, like of the reptiles. And they stand on their toes, not on the feet like quarians (and humans). So except of the fingers and the curved shin, quarians have way more human legs than turians, krogans or salarians - to say the 3 fingered species. )

About the picture, and to the artist: fantastic and beautiful. I like Tali, she's my favourite ME character by far, but never liked the "space elf" trend. This image just perfect. Alien enough yet human enough to be appealing.
Wonderful job.

I kind of hope they never reveal Tali. For all intents and purposes it's best just to consider the mask her face. The beauty behind Tali's character is that her personality is so open and accessible, but her physicality is so closed off to the player.

It's a beautiful piece of artwork, OP

A part of me wants to see what she looks like, another prefers the mystery.

After two games, I don't think Bioware's in-game facial animations would do her justice. I think only a cinematic would.

Ilike the mystery of the character, and I think you hit the nail on the head with the whole personality thing.

Why people want Tali to look like some kind of freakshow is completely beyond me. Whatever happened to good, old fashioned, dead-hot sexy youths?

I would think that Bioware is at least going to show us what a quarian looks like. Maybe not Tali, but someone. I read somewhere that a producer said they knew what quarians looked like, they were just keeping it a mystery.

Maybe they'll just pull another prank on us by showing us only a male quarian and letting us imagine what a female would look like...

When I made a Tali pic I had feathery ear filaments (what pass for quarian ears) and pale skin.

Alien = ugly, apparently.

That, or they want to spite the Talimancers for no apparent reason.

To be honest, I've never liked this pic. And the reason is going to sound really rough, harsh and totallly non-PC (and I apologize, I'm just being honest)... it's because it reminds me of an severly autistic person. Where Tali is meant to be a mechanical genius, the two ideas clash in my head.
