Hi, I'd just like to suggest that this site would benefit from the inclusion of an ignore option, a la Amazon's Customer Communities. The main purpose of such a feature is to allow users to filter out "trolls" while reading the forums. The way the feature works on Amazon is that a member can select "Ignore This Customer" link in any post by any customer and once so selected, the ignored customer's posts no longer display for the member. It's a really nice feature.

I'd really appreciate it if someone with site authority would comment on this as a possibility, or something that would never be done. Thanks.

I'd still like to hear something about if this could be implemented. Anyone with info looking at this? Thanks.

If no one with site authority/info is seeing this, does ANYONE know how I might bring this to the attention of the appropriate individuals? Thanks.

You could try PMing someone with a bioware logo under their name. I doubt theyre going to add something like that for you though.

Thanks for the idea, zerowp, I sent a PM to Chris Priestly, with luck he'll some day have a chance to find it.
I'm pretty sure his message box is way more full than mine.

Thanks for the effort SolitonMan. Hopefully we'll get this feature in.

Hopefully. I was just on the Amazon Customer Communities site earlier today and found some of the posts to be...less than constructive.
One click and all posts by the relevant individuals were no longer displayed. Such sweetness! It might be a bit tricky to program, but ultimately I think that the benefits would be greatly appreciated on the forums.

There is a "block user" feature, that should do pretty much the same thing.
Actually, it only block PMs
. So it's only good if you're getting spammed

That doesn't work Anexity, which is the point of this thread. It only likely blocks private messages - I've "blocked" people before but their posts still show up as if I've done nothing.

Support. All the trolls on these forums and nothing to do to block them.

I would strongly support this.
To paraphrase Warlord Okeer:
"I shall give the [trolls] the greatest insult an enemy can recieve: to be ignored."

I've wanted a 'real' ignore feature on here for a very long time. I have no idea why there isn't one, to be quite frank.
Signed. Definitely.

Wow, thanks for the support everyone!
I'm going to PM a link to this to Chris to see if maybe we can get a response to the idea. I understand it may not be workable, but if enough people are interested maybe we can make it happen.
On that note, if any devs DO read this, if the programming effort is beyond the budget for the site, I'm a fairly able web programmer and would be happy to contribute my efforts, provided I have the necessary skills. PM me about this if you're interested in some assistance.

I'm all for this, the trolls that start crap on the Tali threads and other threads grate on my nerves.

I would love this feature. Especially for those people who ****** off every thread for the hell of it, not just one.
