I've got the xbox collector's version of DA:O (haven't installed Shale/preorder codes yet), I've downloaded "promo pack 2" which you get for playing DA: Journeys online. It downloaded fine and worked ingame, however now the game will not let me play on that save unless I login to the servers first (I assume to authenticate it) as a result I can only play the game while online, which is problematic for me. Does this affect the other content I've already paid for (Shale/Collector's ed content/preorder code)? and is there any way to fix it. It tells me the content is missing (while it is still on my harddrive).

I'm on the same console I originally downloaded the content to btw (all other xbox dlc works offline), if this situation doesn't change bioware can forget me purchasing any dlc or collector's editions in the future - I expect a patch.

I'm guessing it's something we're just going to have to deal with. Since we bought them online we're going to have to play them online. I believe that's how a few Arcade games work as well.

Well I'm not going to simply accept it. I've purchased a lot of DLC in the past for the xbox, they are meant to work offline - this is completely unacceptable to me, especially as a consumer I was given no notification that this dlc would opperate differently - that is a trading standards violation (in this case microsoft would probably be the liable party however - even though this is probably EA's fault). Furthermore, the content included in the collector's edition and as a preorder bonus was purchased at retail - the reasoning that we bought them online so we have to play them online makes no sense. Again I expect this situation to be rectified, I've been a loyal Bioware fan for years, I enjoy their products and have supported their products well by purchasing collector's editions and DLC on top of the basic game, if this doesn't change I won't do that anymore.

I noticed there are other threads dealling with the same issue, could an admin merge them or sticky one (search wasn't working when I created the thread).

This one is a little more established http://social.biowar.../index/122541/1
