I'm kind of split on having new love interest options in ME3. I love new characters and new things to do, but with everything they've built up in ME1 and 2, which is a lot, I'm not sure it wouldn't just be overkill to add much more at what should be the final act of the trilogy. I think it will be epic and excellent story development if they bring what was created in the first 2 games to some sort of culmination in the third. The obvious would be some drama involving Shepard being unfaithful to their ME1 LI with their ME2 LI. Adding a 3rd LI to all that just seems silly when looking at the big picture of the story.

Shepard has a love interest in every station. Heck, Shiala was all over my FemShep and promised to see her again sometime.
Yeah, that would be pretty cool actually. She flirted with my FemShep as well rather openly. I wouldn't mind something like that being availible, I mean hell that character is more attractive physically and personality-wise than Liara. Plus she doesn't have the fake, drawn-on eyebrows that Liara does. That always bothered me.

i think that there will be more interests in ME3 for the new players.
that doesnt make sense because the new players should have to play the first two before playing the third. especially wiht a game like this
a third romance would probably make you look bad unless your a pimp like that... which is kinda what i want to do..
new players will probably be able to choose anybody, players who played ME1 and 2 will choose from new crew (no old squad mates because theyll probably not like it) or your old romance.

It would be great if u could stick with your old love.
Nobody said that Shepard have just one night lovers. There is a 2 years gap between the 1 and 2 part. And on the begining of the 2 we see Liara/Ashley/Kaidan runing to us so i think it wasn't a one night fun time.

There is no need for more choices. There is not even any need for new companions. We have over 9000 choices right now... We dont need another 4500...

I'd rather they worked on fleshing out and continuing the romances from ME1 and 2. Theres ALOT of them all together. 9 romance options if they are all going to be present in ME3.
Doubt they would make new romances before implementing as many of the old ones as possible.

There should be new characters with romance options but there should be something more to the romances you started in the previous mass effects, like children or something. Plus a further developing of your relationship.

There will be a public castration though.
Poor poor MaleShep.
Exactly.
Making relationship dialog for the fans in continuation of the series or making all new context neutral dialog for newcomers.... Biowares vote is probably newcomers. The idea of recording alternate dialog paths for characters seems beyond Bioware's grasp. Garrus is supposed to be my broham, but only Femsheps get all his dialog and only if they romance him. You either go down the beaten path or don't move forward at all. I'd rather they have no romances at all if they won't do them properly.

If you have had a relastionship in 1 or 2 it should be continued, but if your shep hasn't had a relationship (not sure if Kelly counts) then there has to be something for an unencumbered Shep to fall for.
Who knows, Male sheps do have that breeding request back on the Krogan homeworld to look forward to...

I suspect there will be new romance options. I hope there will also be the option to resume/rekindle the ME1 romances. That scene where Shepard stares at the picture on his desk had better not end up being a tease or I will be pissed!

My hope is that the LI from ME1 and the LI from ME2 both return for ME3 with them both being on your squad, with numerous clashes between them happening along the way. Obviously SHephard will have to chose
I also have a funny feeling that a non loyal Miranda or Jack may return for revenge on Shephard - a woman scorned and all that
I would imagine that their will be new LI's in ME3 but whether or not you can continue on with previous interests I'm not sure - maybe for sections but certainly not through the whole game

I agree with everything you said except the blasphemy about AshTaranatar9 wrote...
Ash isn't attractive at all. Liara is mind numbingly boring. Jack is in serious need of a therapist. The less said about Tali as a romance, the better. Miranda has the personality of a hornets nest.
So yeah, there should be at least one new option for each gender.
Not much more than one, though. It's a sci-fi action series, not The Sims.

The only romance I'd like to see added would be Shiala. It was hinted at. No more than that though.

Niftu Cal and the Asari Bartender for LIs...but seriously I wouldn't be surprised if your LI from ME3 or the one you decide to stick with from ME1 or 2 ends up dying in the end.

I suspect they likely will add some new characters. Making some of those LI's wouldn't bother me except that like a lot of people, I want some depth from returning characters. If adding more romance subplots ends up resulting in severely short friendship conversations for those who don't do the romance with that character, than that's a drawback to me. Calibrations, anyone?
That said, I hope they do not just add an Asari (Shiala/Aria whoever) and call it done. There's sort of a lack of parity between the number of feminine characters vs. masculine characters flirting with Shepard as it is. (Offhand, it's like 10 female to 4 male). The 4 male LI's of course vs the 4 female is even, but then there's Kelly, Shiala, Morinth, Samara, Gianni, probably forgetting others. For random men...I draw a blank. I suppose you could say Mordin flirts in a sense when he says if he were going to try human, he'd go with you, but that's about the closest the game gets to a non LI male character saying something flirty. Unless we're supposed to interpet all those Krogan's saying "you got a quad" differently...

There had better be, for both sexes no less. And Samara will show us all the "Fourth Oath of Subsumation."

I hope they bring in a couple of new characters that can be LIs in ME3. It may be fun to go the James Bond route. <_<
